I don't like to read the paper (or the GARM) after a Rox loss because of the negativity that seems to come out. Every loss seems like the sky is about to fall to some people. I just try to turn my attention to the next game and hope for the best. I think I have been able to emotionally segregate some of this stuff since the Oilers left (which pi$$ed me off royally). I don't get nearly as worked up about it as I used to.
After a Buckeye loss I'm a SOB for a week. Big losses hurt me in other sports (when the Rockets/Cowboys get knocked out of the playoffs) but I don't get in as bad as mood as a college football loss
Only one game really has in the last few years, and that's UT/OU. The rest disappoint me, but it doesn't affect my life other than I don't read the paper or watch Sportscenter after one of my team's losses.
In Football, it can ruin my week, especially when both teams lose. The Titans and Texans. But luckily the Texans have made me temperate this week on the jags last second miracle.
Let's just say it dictates my week at work if my TEXANS lose and my ROCKETS lose and my ASTROS lose. All three can't happen in one weekend (seasons NEVER overlap, unless they're playoffs), so I am glad for that. GO ROCKETS!!!!! GO ASTROS!!!!! GO TEXANS!!!!! Homer for life.
Major, major, DITTO! I have thoroughly trashed my apartment after the last few losses over the years.
Oh that is so true. I usually skip the GARM too if we have a particularly bad loss. The negativity on sports message boards can be overpowering sometimes. And I'm not singling out this board, but any board in the world is usually loaded with crabby b****ers after a loss, that they were expecting to win. I know. I've been to a couple from different parts of the country. It ain't pretty.
It only gets to me when the Astros are locked in a pennant or wildcard race at the end of the season.
