You play as a team. You win as a team. You lose as a team.

    End of story.

It actually crossed my mind that the media would use a Rockets win to say, "See Harden isn't all that valuable to the team". And might cost him some MVP votes.

Then another thought crossed my mind.

    Who cares?

I'm frustrated that the Rox didn't win because they really should have won if they played the right way down the stretch. Like I said in game thread, this team still play stupid ball when things get tight and Harden's talent covers a lot of the low bball IQ deficiencies on this team.

No one wins MVPs from losing, while if the MEDIA has its mind made up, it's made up. They LOVE Curry. He will WIN the MVP, unless he goes down with an injury or the Rockets finish 1st.

Would have been perfect to pull it off in the end, yet still show why harden is so valuable by the way we collapsed in crunch time. The calls for Atlanta were pretty generous towards the end there. Sigh.

You can tell that the ridiculous 4Q officiating was designed to allow the Hawks to get back in the game. Obviously not having beard in there (and Dwight) disallowed the rox to beat the refs and counter the Hawk's ramped up defense.

So the league felt like it truly punished the rockets/James Harden bc tonight was a loss

Hear hear, Harden deserves recognition for his amazing season, but I'm a rockets fan and i want us to go somewhere in the post-season so i could care less about personal accolades

I'd kinda rather see him in the playoffs so pissed off he didnt win it.

obviously winning the mvp is cool, but having an insanely motivated harden isnt a bad thing. NOT SAYING HES NOT MOTIVATED. but adding another chip on his shoulder? it could help us, a la hakeem the year he shouldve won it. we got the ring that year.

We don't want the MVP, especially If we get destroyed in the first round of the playoffs.

    I want playoff success...

I could see the media saying.

"Harden can't be MvP, the team looked better without him".

Read what I said again... I never said I didn't want him to win, just that it is not a priority in any way, shape, or form. The only "hardware" I care about is a championship ring. The immediate priority is getting past the first round. Anything else to me is, "Who really gives a ****?"

    This is a team sport.

Team success >>>>>>>>>>> Individual accomplishments (unless you're LOF's).

So no, I would have wanted a Rockets victory. If it tarnishes Harden's MVP campaign, so be it.
