Not a bad idea for Philly to trade Iverson. Philly needs a talent upgrade. If say Atlanta ended up with the #1 or #2 pick, think Philly would trade Iverson for that pick and a chance to draft Ming or Williams?

However, bad idea for the Rockets to obtain Iverson, even though the Rockets would have one of the best backcourt rotations in recent history. Their focus should be squarely on the frontcourt.

Iverson has the mental capacity of Vernon Maxwell. Although, Iverson has not punched a fan yet in public.

    Ted,

No, Iverson just got involved in a gang brawl in High School and was jailed for it.

All Iverson needs is a good A$$ whoppin, someone to humble him, he thinks he is the cat's meow, and in reality he is a very talented head case.

    Couldn't agree more with Gater.

That rant spoke multitudes. How many times did he say 'MVP'? And I never heard anyone speak so derogatorily about practice before, certainly not anyone at his level.

True, he is phenomenal, and has proven he's capable of taking a team past the Eastern Conference Finals. But where besides on the practice floor is a team going to learn the discipline it takes to beat the Lakers, Spurs or even Jazzholes?

The dude will never win an NBA championship. If you trade Francis, you don't trade him for Iverson.

    Iverson > Steve

If the opportunity ever arose you do the trade in a heartbeat.

Now let's get real controversial of OUR Franchise player.

The Rockets offer Cuttino, Eddie Griffin, #5, and #15 for Iverson and #16.

take into consideration, the only good player on Philly is Iverson. Deke is on serious decline. Coleman is Coleman. Harpring can only be Harpring. Eric SNow, Aaron Mckie? Brilliant role players. But still, role players. So Iverson is worth that much to them. We'd have a small line-up. Who would defend Kobe, but tell me, who would Kobe defend?

    Francis
    Iverson
    Rice (I guess)
    MoT
    Cato

The only problem here is without Eddie, is Cato enough of a shotblocking threat to even marginally erase Steve and Ivy's defensive blunders?

I'll tell you one think. It's horrifying defending that line-up. But it's a fantasy scoring aginst it.

****, I just remembered I forgot the main reason of my post, LOL!

Well, the question is. Is Francis willing to give up his best friend Cat, for a chance at being one of the best teams?

Are you people stupid (only some of you). When you have youth like EG and Franchise you shouldn't even think about trading it for a player who is great but disgruntled. Shame on you I realize that we need some changes but their are many better means of doing this. Here is my proposal.

EG will be a perimteter type player with driving skills I think, I think that he will be a small forward which makes me hope that we draft Amare Stoudamire for our future 4 cuz MoT won't cut it not now not ever. And I hope that we can also get woods as a swing man. As far as centers I honestly believe that we could trade KT for Chris Marcus, and that who ever drafts Marcus would agree to it. Think about it this would be a nice scenario for us. However I do have to add that I think that Hilario will be maybe the best player in the draft, dunno for sure. We would have to be creative to land Stoudamire but I think that If we sacrifice future picks like next years 1st and 2nd or maybe 2004s if we have to give first to Memphis next year round picks we could. And I honestly believe that Ming, Williams, Wagner, and Gooden will go before Woods giving us him for the 5th pick.

    Franchise/Mooch
    Cat/Woods
    Rice/Griffin/TMo
    MoT/Stoudamire
    Cato/Marcus

I wouldn't normally think about it, seeing as how I hate Iverson, but I read something interesting today. tell me if you agree. The theory states that when a star player as big as Ivy gets traded, they will work harder to become better players and eventually will. Of course, not when the player is 34 yrs old and can't walk anymore. Sometime, early in careers. Some examples:

    Webber. Kidd. Wallace.

Didn't they clean up their act after being traded?

First, Brown is probably staying. He wants Iverson to stay too. In my opinion, this conflict is blown up by the media.

    Brown's Answer: Iverson's staying put

    Hell no.

We already got our backcourt set. Iverson is a great player, but he's also a headache, and I don't want to have to root for the bum.

We need a frontcourt, not an improvement in the backcourt.

    Definitely no on Iverson...

He causes way too many problems on the defensive side since he's a short SG. We'd get destroyed by the Kobe Bryant's of the league with that Midget heaving 30 shots a night...

Philly is the best team for him since he can heave as many shots as he'd like and he has a big man pulling down whatever he misses...
