or you stand pat and avoid a season of turmoil by not signing the most malconted nutjob to grace the league in a long time.

the best moves are sometimes the moves you DON'T make.

no thanks on a speech-slurring, sexually deviant, thug life living, entourage toting, no common sense having knuckleheads who haven't learned from their previous mistakes...

Fair enough, that is a reasonable argument to not hurt the chemistry...I disagree, but I can certainly understand it.

I think we are risking much more by not signing him than by singing him if we can.

not signing Marbury: all we have is Rafer. Rafer got no game. Rockets will sure fail. TMAC+YAO+Arets is wasted.

Signing Marbury: we got Rafer and Marbury. it might be different than just Rafer.

Terrell Brandon was really good, and really underrated.

while we are at it why dont we take a chance on me? I can sit on the end of the bench and cheer the rockets with a lot more passion than Marbury can and i will sign for a lot cheaper too!

That guy will rather go overseas and continue stuffing his ego than take a pay cut. If he is on this team, I am scared he might also induce a homicidal rage from Artest.

If your job offered you more than you are worth and then asked you to give to take a pay cut, would you do it?

Most people on this board wouldn't, so why do you expect Professionals Sports Players to do it. At the end of the day this is still a business and as much as we (fans) love to say we are #1, these guys are still making sure to secure themselves while they can.

So I have no prob with him saying NO I will not give back or cut my salary. Who gave them the salary? The Knicks Organization...

He's honoring his contract and not being the THUG, IMMATURE A-Hole as people on the board have called him.

When no one wants you for your asking price or you fail to perform at a level your pay demands, then yea... I think you would have to bite back your pride and take a pay cut. He has always been an arrogant ass where ever he went and has fought with countless coaches. His game is good but not worth his ego and attitude.

Did the Knicks ask him to take a pay cut?

Marbury should say no, unless they release him.

Knicks wanted to buy him out for less than his salary due to all the issues he caused and the fact that he's not in the Knicks future. Marbury refuses to take the buyout because he knows not too many teams will want him, much less pay him what he wants or is making now.

That isn't why he refused to take less, it is because he has a guaranteed contract, he doesn't have to take less....

He has all the cards, he can sit all year and they have to pay him, he knows that D'Antoni wants him gone.....it is all about negotiation, maybe he gives up a little to be free, but I doubt it is much.....

I think whoever responded to me probably misunderstood my reply. I am saying no because we can't afford him (what we can offer him he can make 10x as much overseas) and he would be a cancer to our team.

Starbury would be a big improvement over Rafer if he is willing to accept his role and that's a BIG IF! :p

Man, I can not believe this thread keeps going like this. On the other side, I can see how much confidence on Rafer the board has.
