Sure, we could say Bosh hasn't made it out of the playoffs. Garnett didn't make it out of the 1st playoffs after 5 seasons either. He didn't get out of the 1st round until his 8th season.

The point is the Rockets wouldn't be gutted and unable to move like others are trying to infer. If the Rockets traded for Bosh, they would still have plenty of trade assets to fill out the rotation. NY wouldn't have any trade assets to fill out the rotation. They don't have any exceptions to sign any players for the rotation. They would still not be a championship contender.

    Bosh was drafted in 2003.

If james is in NY, some free agents who never had a ring would want to ride LBJ's cocktail. They wouldn't mind to sign a one year minimum.

Then, he had 6 seasons to get out of the 1st round. I was off by one. Garnett never made it out of the 1st round until his 8th season.

Garnett is more completed player than Bosh. How many raptors games have you watched? Bosh's defense is very weak. We all know Garnett was a former DPOY.

Nope, he will not be welcomed by me. All we need to do is to require a decent backup C and keep healthy, then we will be another 2004 Detroit team. A team with no stars, but beat the team with all stars.

Billups and Rasheed Wallace are stars. They would be stars on our team also.

Isn't that the knock on Gasol, too?

    Bosh>Boozer>David Lee.

Last season, the organization traded for Artest to make up the void left by Mcgrady in case he can not play. Ok, everyone know what happened.

This year, we think the organization rank upgrading PF as top priority. In case Yao is out, we still get a big man who can carry the team further in playoffs.

I'll take Bosh at a reasonable price.

1st round is an arbitrary reference isn't it. I mean as far as I know you dont get a Larry O'Brien trophy for the first round or a ring do you? In fact you don't get anything at all except 4-7 more games. Just because talking heads at ESPN talk about something to fill time, it doesn't mean it actually means anything statistically significant. Why not 2nd round? Why not 45 win seasons? Why not division championships. Arbitrary.

Also seems like if you were to place some special significance on 1st round success you'd keep in mind that Garnett (your franchise player) had 7 straight exits. Bosh has had... fewer. Because he hasn't moved past the 1st round is certainly no indicator that he wont. In fact it pretty much is not an indicator at all, since everyone moves past the first round except very very rare cases with a spectacular series of misfortunes/injuries/blown calls like Tmac. Past success or not, like Garnett, in the right situation it's logical to assume Bosh will also advance and that first round success at this point in his career really has no logical bearing on Franchise status. The Conference Championship and the title are goals, whether you lose in the first or second round is immaterial and isn't an indicator year to year of later success. The very exhibits for this fact are you guys you're talking about Pierce and Garnett who've lost early on bad teams and won it all on good teams.

So in short... irrelevant. It's actually extremely dense to talk about Bosh as anything but a franchise player... he's led them to Division championships and is singlehandedly putting a face with the city, that's the definition of franchise.

Valuating a player by his team's playoff success is ignorant. You are upgrading a position to your current team which already has playoff success, not starting over around a new franchise player.

I think your confusing injury prone and soft. Yao and Bosh are both very tough guys they just get injured more than the average player. Just in case you cant remember(its been awhile) whenever yao posts up he is most effective when he just powers his man down and takes it up.
