Good point. However, the lakers and Kobe and PJ won the titles before Gasol came to the lakers. They need an important piece, but not a franchise player. Gasol fits that role very well. Of course, you can say the rockets don't want Bosh to be a franchise player either. However, Bosh himself always want to be a franchise player. That is the problem.

In addition, the lakers have Kobe, a wing player. Kobe has tough winning mentality, great score ability, but average playmaking skills. Gasol is a big man with good playmaking skills but relatively soft mentality . They are good fit for each other.

What kind of question is this of course we need Bosh to take us over the top and make us title contendors. Along with that we will have the best frontcourt in the league. I just hope it happens

The more I think about it and the more I watch Bosh I have no doubt he would make us a legit Championship threat but he sure doesn't seem to be very clutch. It seems every time I see him that if the Raptors are getting killed he doesn't seem to offer any type of resistance, that worries me.

I wonder if Daryl wouldn't go after Al Jefferson, who himself is untested, instead of Bosh considering Minnesota would might be more willing to except draft picks then players and I am sure Jefferson wouldn't mind being on a contender. His salary goes up a 1 million, from 13 million in 10-11 to 15 million in 12-13, per year so I don't think finding players to match salaries would be to tough.

    Jefferson

    for

JJ and Andersen + 2010 Lotto pick + 2012 Knicks pick

Haven't a clue what Kahn would ask for him so who knows but I think the players required to trade for Jefferson would be less in value then Bosh.

    Yao/Hill/Hayes
    Jefferson/Scola/FAgent
    Ariza/Battier/FAgent
    Martin/Budinger/Taylor
    Brooks/Lowry/Backup PG

When Shaq was in his prime. They never passed 1st round without Shaq and Gasol, even wtih Kobe/Odom/Butler.

A versatile big man like Gasol/Bosh can lift a good team to elite status, it's very simple.

Again, Gasol/Bosh can be an important piece in a championship team, but not a franchise player.

Honestly, I don't think Bosh will agree to come here if Yao is here. The only way that the rockets can make Bosh do a sign&trade is trading Yao for Bosh.

it works well on NBA Live 2010... Bosh and Yao = total dominance. of course injuries are turned off. so i guess that doesn't help.

    More realistically,

    Scola/Brooks/Hill at $10M >>> Bosh at $16M.

Pepple also forget that if Bosh gets injured we are f** again because we would have no money or depth left.

Where have you been the last 5 years? The Rockets have already been f*** every year with 1st round exists or failing to make the playoffs. I rather be in the Finals than have depth and money.

Pierce never had a ring with the Celtics, before the trade. Allen never had a ring with the Sonics. Garnett never had a ring with the Timberwolves. Rasheed never had a ring with the Trailblazers. Billups never had a ring with the Magic. All of them have rings now.

Most of players that you mentioned are important pieces for their title, but not franchise players. You can argue about Pierce or Garnett. But, at least the got the conference finals before the big 3 played together.

Again, Bosh never passed the 1st round. He is not the franchise player that the rockets should build around.

DING DING DING. We have a winner, folks!

That is exactly what this would be--the second coming of Tracy McGrady. Gutting the team for a gifted young scorer with a big ego, growing more prone to softness and lapses on the defensive end as he gets older.

No thanks. I prefer depth. Let's keep our guys and wait for Morey draft us a superstar. He essentially got us Brooks, Landry, Scola, and Lowry for nothing, imagine what he can do with all the middle/high draft picks he has coming up.

In the meantime we can be in the thick of contention year in and year out, which suits me just fine.

I'd rather do a sign & trade for joe johnson than bosh. jj gives us a perimeter player who can take that last shot. aaron is still developing that part of his game. still haven't seen that kind of aggressiveness from martin.

Of course this means we would trade away kevin martin, battier and 1 of those NY picks. Atlanta will be getting a lot of offers for S&T's so we need to give up quality to get quality.

This is all assuming johnson would want out and wants to come to Houston.

No, we'd still have Kevin Martin, Lowry, Ariza...all good players in their own right.

NOTHING like the Yao-Tmac days...NOTHING like them. They had no one surrounding them at times.
