This is our roster going into the summer.

    Yao / Hayes / Andersen
    Scola / Hill / Jefferies / Armstrong
    Battier / Ariza
    Martin / Budinger / Taylor
    Brooks / Lowry

Then we have our 1st round pick, not sure if we have a 2nd round pick. The MLE and the LLE

I could see us going after Manu with the MLE and Camby with the LLE.
-Reasons for Manu - Has a chance to win a championship + he gets to play with his best friend in Scola + Close to San Antonio
-Reasons for Camby - Has a chance to win a championship + he has a house here + Good Role on this team.

I could also see us going after Brad Miller (Played with Adelman before), or maybe even Morrow if he's available.

Depending on how much Hill improves, lets say he's equal to Landry 2008/2009, I don't think gutting our team for Bosh is necessary, but with Morey on our side anythings possible. He could probably get Bosh for much less. We can sign Manu and Camby after the Bosh trade.

    Here are our assets.
Battier (expiring), Scola (resigned), Jefferies (expiring)
    Lowry (resigned), Bud, Hill,
    Taylor, Andersen,
draft pick 2010 (already drafted), 2011 Knicks swap pick, 2012 Knicks and Rockets Pick.

I could see Morey trading 2 of 3 (Battier, Scola, Jefferies). I doubt, Hill goes with Scola, imo its either or. 1 of 3 (Lowry, Bud, Hill) maybe Taylor or Andersen and picks.

I think the trade would look something like this.
Battier, Jefferies, Hill, Andersen or Taylor and maybe our 2010 or 2012 pick.
I don't see Morey giving up a whole lot for Bosh considering Toronto doesn't have much leverage. Bosh could force a trade anywhere he wants.

Or maybe we can swing a 3 team deal involving Scola and Manu going to toronto, Bosh coming here, and players going to the team that sign and trades manu.
    Roster with no Bosh
    Yao / Camby / Hayes
    Scola / Hill / Andersen
    Ariza / Battier / Bud
    Martin / Manu
    Brooks / Lowry

    Roster with Bosh.
Yao / Camby / Hayes (I think he might be gone)
    Bosh / Scola
    Ariza / Bud
    Martin / Manu
    Brooks / Lowry

That would be a dream come true

Both of those are pretty amazing line ups. We'd be title contenders either way.

Um...yeah, I don't think we'll be just adding Bosh to our current team, so I fixed it for you.

    Camby = Realistic & fills a need

Manu = old, injured, past his prime, typical houston pro sports move (ala LT playin for the Texans), & plus we already have Ariza, Battier, Martin, and Budinger.

Yao and Stat together would be the best front court in the NBA.

I would love to have Bosh, but not at the price of gutting our team. Hill has shown a flash of what we hope he can do consistantly. An energetic big who fights for rebounds and blocks/changes/prevents shots. I like the idea of getting either/both Camby and Manu. Camby would be great for backing up or even sharing time with Yao. Bringing Yaos minutes down a little bit should help with the wear and tear factor. Manu is not what he used to be, but for the right price, I think he could be very valuable. Experience, leadership, IQ. He can still shoot and take it to the rim. What a great backup he could be.

Back to the original question...no...we don't need Bosh to contend or win a championship, but it sure would help. I hate the think of losing Scola...as I think he's the kind of player who still has plenty in the tank (ala Vlade Divac), but I would be willing to package him for Bosh. IMO, Brooks would be a good "sell high" value. I like him, but I think we see what we're going to get from him. He may improve a little bit more...but not too much. I dont' know how much more I would be willing to offer, and those two alone probably don't get you Bosh.

forgot to add....if Bosh is worried about being the only superstar, then that tells me all I need to know and I am no longer interested. Yao would be a great co-superstar. He isn't an egomaniac like some of these guys. I doubt he would mind if Bosh got the spotlight, as long as the team is winning. Guys like Yao and Scola don't care about the spotlight. They are about team basketball and winning. They were taught differently than many of the "me" players in the NBA.

Why wouldn't Manu go to LA?, or follow Lebron?, or Dallas? or Orlando?

I dont think I would want Manu on this team. I would much rather go after Outlaw in FA(he's younger and more athletic than Manu), and would allow us to move Budinger to the backup SG....

In additon, I would much rather give up Scola, than Hill, given the age difference and Jordan's potential.....I would rather trade something like:

Brooks+ Scola+ Fillers(NY pick, Taylor, Battier, Andersen and/or Jeffries) for Bosh.....

    Yao | Camby(FA) | 2010 HOU 1st rd pick
    Bosh | J. Hill | Hayes
    Ariza | Outlaw(FA)
    Martin | Budinger
    Lowry | C.J. Watson(FA)

Scola is a restricted FA & would have to want to play in Toronto via Sign & Trade,
Why would they want Brooks when they have Calderon & Jarret Jack, with Brooks coming up for a new contract soon?

Why do people think Scola will be happy being traded to Toronto with no Bosh and no chance to ever win a ring

Spurs had jump shooting PFs, Oberto and Duncan, as their front court and they still got their rings.

The hype is so ridiculous. Folks need to stop saying he is the most athletic big since Hakeem and that he can step in for Yao, and comparing him to Bosh.
He's become become a future Hall Famer that's below Hakeem, that can replace Yao and is better than Bosh, Amare and Boozer. He's just under Duncan and Dwight Howard for best big man right now.

Not saying he wouldn't....just saying I wouldn't mind having him if it worked out for the right price.
