We aren't getting Bosh; it's just the impossible fantasy of a handful of delusional forumers. So this thread is irrelevant.
I think a question that should be posted in relation to this thread is Do we have the money to go after a Bosh, without significantly depleting current core players? Keep in mind with the squad we have now we will be over the luxury tax threshold.
I also wouldn't give up Brooks + Scola for Bosh, by the way, let alone more than that (a king's ransom would probably be required). He's not worth it.
It is the way he played that has many so enamored with his future. Right AND Left hand hooks, rebounding in traffic and space.. running the floor, boxing out, not looking lost on offense after only being with the team a few weeks.. He is farther along then Landry or Dorsey at this point. No one thought that... stop that.
Do we really need Bosh? That is a fair question but one could ask did we really need Drexler to win a championship. And then did we really need to trade Landry for Martin. I guess the real question is, "Do we really need anyone more than the return of Yao. And most on this board would say yes. Bosh is better than Gasol and gives us the best frontline in the league when Yao returns. But my problem is what do we have to give up. If it means giving up Brooks Scola and a lottery pick I say no.
Brooks and Scola for a signed Bosh? I'd do it in a heart beat. I'm all for selling high on AB sense I think he's hit his ceiling and will never become a consistent passer in this league. Would suck to see Scola go because he's the last "tough" player we have but for a 20 and 10 PF in his prime I'd do it.
Their combined production is already better than Bosh's by himself, and I don't buy for a second that Brooks is at his peak as a player, given his youth, inexperience, and the vast improvement we've already seen in him this season. Bosh: 25.6 PER Brooks + Scola: 33.1 PER
Blatche was very uncomfortable with Hill guarding him. It seems that Hill has had a lot more confidence on offense and defense as soon as he joined the Rockets.
Well the Knicks played him outside the paint... Yao doesn't get a ton of blocks but he changes shots. I'm looking forward to Hill and Yao next year. Do you think Hill could handle the entry pass to Yao duties? Or would that make no sense / wrong position?
Personally speaking of course, I think going after Bosh is but a smoke screen for the Rockets real intentions. This does not rule out any possibility of Bosh but suggest to me that we should be more open minded when it comes to Morey's planning. Jordan Hill is full of potential for the Power Forward spot and Scola is such a special talent. Consider the possibility of us getting a young athletic Center to back up Yao and another sharp shooing Powerhouse who plays defense to take Battiers spot. y
Youth? AB is 25. He's young but he's not raw and full of potential. He's a shoot first PG that doesn't have great Vision. You can't teach Vision. You can teach a jump shot. Bosh is also more efficient than FG% than Both of them averaged. More points with less shots. Not to mention the Points AB gives up on defense. You also fail to mention the double teams that Bosh will draw. AB nor Scola will never draw a double team. AB gets trapped though.
I think we already matchup well against the Lakers. Specifically, Battier & Ariza neutralizing Kobe as good as you could hope for. And they don't have a PG that can hold Brooks. I think Artest is going to cause problems, but you can live with him having the ball instead of Kobe. On the inside, they have a better lineup then ours, but not by an overwhelming margin. I'm not sure that Bosh really makes us match up better.
+1 Agree. You gotta also understand. This is brooks's first full year leading the team. Also, I trust DM and I know he knows the best for this team so I doubt he'll go trading all of our players just to get Bosh.
Lerbon: 31.9 PER - Obviously, if you have a chance to get Lebron for Scola and Brooks, you tell the Cavs to shove it. Comparing PER of two players vs one is stupid to say the least.
