Theoretically (if he just accepted a bench 4 mil a dollar a year role and just blocked shots and caught lobs) then yes. Danny green would not have gotten that and 1 in OT realistically (20 mil a year starter who demanded postups) then hell no.
The Dwight from that first year with us would have definitely made a difference. But that's with Lou, Anderson, and Gordon. We have a serious rebounding issue, and it's made worse without NeNe. Harden got way too complacent in the fourth and OT. And our defense couldn't stop anything, or rebound when we did. I think Gordon, Anderson, and Beverley each hit crucial 3s down the stretch when we were struggling to score for long periods. But we just got worked time after time on defense. That one possession they got 4 chances I nearly lost my mind. I was screaming at the TV in a bar. Spurs fans all behind me erupting in cheers. I'm still so disappointed about last night. I've never been so quiet at work, haha. It's made worse that I live with a Spurs fan. !;&/9:$!;!&/&/$4!!: /exhale
I would like to applaud OP for bringing CFs together on a more divisive topic than the game 5 loss. Still cannot vote or like your thread though. Sorry (not sorry).
Capela is currently giving us most of what we needed Dwight to do for us when we signed him, sans the rebounding. The fact that Dwight still can't reliably make FT's would also make him a liability down the stretch of games like the one we played last night. Capela knows his role on this team and is serviceable at doing what he does. He has some holes in his game which is what Nene was for, until he got hurt. Did anyone here watch Dwight play in the playoffs this year? His defense was beyond atrocious, easily the worst I've seen him play in his career. He's not good at knowing when to switch anymore, and even when he recognizes its often too late and he leaves the rim open for attack. For the amount of money he's demanding and considering he still can't make a FT to save his life (despite being in the league for 13 seasons), I would have to choose the no ****ing way option. Though, its far fetched to call him a scrub.
