I would really like to see him go against ppat but most likely Adelman will throw Chuck at him. I dont think double teaming him will be necessary but if he's the next amare as i like to think at times, then yes we will find out soon enough that double teaming him is or will become necessary.
[Carl Herrera mode on]Let's sandwich him so that he doesn't give us too many facials.[/Carl Herrera mode off]
OK, everyone that thinks he isn't skilled enough to be doubled well stop that right now. All it takes is a few Griffin dunks in a close game to gain momentum and before you know it they're making 3's on top of it. This is operation take the crowd out of the game. This guy is good and they're at home on a win streak. Baron Davis even though he sucks can make the most hurtful 3s if we let them stay close. Well if he's not skilled enough to be doubled than I guess we don't have to worry about chuck wagon guarding him. And if you think Chucks the answer, I'm sorry that seems old school to me. Sometimes I hate when he gives up easy buckets early in the game. Which seems like his habit if you ask me.
Griffin is currently nowhere near as good as Stat, and we didn't double Stat and Hayes did fine on him. So why would we double Griffin?
Chuck Hayes struggle against the tall, athletic, high jumping, limitted post-up frontcourt players, like Dwight Howard. I hope Blake is different and that the Wagon Wheel can handle him, but it wouldn't be easy to handle him. If Hayes gets in foul trouble, I hope to see Jordan Hill using his length to defend the LA star. I do not want to see Brad Miller guarding Blake Griffin.
He will get his highlight dunks but I am pretty sure Chuck will be able to stop him. I have not looked forward this much to a Rockets-Clippers game since... since... since... Frankly, I do not think I have ever been this excited about a Clippers game.
I think either people watch sports center highlights or simply don't pay enough attention to Griffin game. His strength is more on his quickness going for offensive boards, and he has a potential to hurt us tonight because of the height advantage. But on one on one post up plays he won't have a chance against Chuck. On the other hand, if KMart limits Eric Gordon to a mere shooter we win this game. Also Baron Davis has been playing waay better recently, I believe the fourth quarter winning model of playing C Lee against explosive point guards should be used tonight.
So true. Nene and warrick gives chuck the blues. Nene is one of those strong, quick type who is very athletic and warrick just jumps over him. Griffin will try to back him down at fist ,because it is enticing, but once he just starts being an athlete, he will be alright vs chuck. Griffin is more explosive now than he was before the surgery. I wonder what happened to all the people who said amare would be done after he had knee surgery
Double-team-->Wagon+Jeffries=*YOU SHALL NOT PASS* (gandolph voice) However, on the offensive end we get pwned!
I've seen a game or two, but no, I haven't watched a whole lot of him. But what, are you claiming Griffin is already superior to Gasol? Don't make me laugh.
Maybe double team Baron Davis and Eric Gordon. The idea is to stop the ball from getting to Blake Griffin. Easier said than done of course. That's Adelman and the rest of the team's problem.
Rox are my favorite team... but there seriously needs to be a poll on which Rockets player will get dunked on by Griffin....
He's a better Rebounder and stronger around the basket. Superior? maybe not. They are about the same in terms of star level.
yeah i agree. contain him to his average and keep the shooters in check. when in doubt, foul him hard (send in jeffries for disposable fouls if need be) - he only shoots 57% from the stripe. hack-a-griffin.
Hayes has stopped and will stop everyone, Blake won't be able to hardly get off the ground with the weight of the wagon on his back.
