Yeah, well YOU and your pals only care about winning a few games, not a series. Look up Jason Terry in that series against us.
this makes no sense. What the hell does Rafer getting scored on by Devin Harris have to do with Jason Terry?
yes we do his name is battier and he was doing a good job on that b**** in the 2nd qtr. but in the second half our moron coach went with lowry and wafer. lowry undersized and wafer can't guard a stick.there's your ball game.
I think Yao's softness and Ron's stupidity hurt us more than the lack of a "Jason Terry stopper". We would have won if the leaders don't suck down the stretch.
Von Wafer actually did a pretty decent job when he was on him, but he left him to help a couple of times...but on the ball he is very athletic and is bigger than brooks and Lowery and faster and quicker than Battier and Artest. He was able to chase him around all the screens and was right up on him when he caught the ball, I was kinda impressed. Wafer is somewhat small for a big guard these days and doesn't have the handles to be a point guard, but I think he could be very effective defensively on scoring guards who are around 6'1-6'6 range if he put his mind to it like he did tonight in the 2nd quarter. Once they put him on Terry, he couldn't score off the catch or dribbling, only off of double teams on Dirk. Artest is better suited against players who look to drive in and post up more than shoot jumpers. He has the physical strength to keep a player from getting to a certain spot and he will stand his ground and he can guard shorter power forwards, because he is 260 lbs of muscle. He does pretty good against guys like Lebron, Melo, David West, Roy, and Pierce, but he has trouble against Kobe, Wade (too quick), Joe Johnson, Ray Allen, Rip Hamilton, and Tmac back when they were playing against each other. He has lost a step in the quickness department though...so he's not as good as he was when he played for Indiana. Battier thrives on positioning and trying to force dynamic scorers to shoot in spots they aren't as effective from (although Kobe was not affected by that this year). He uses discipline and positioning to make players feel uncomfortable and makes them shoot over the top with a hand in their face. He is better against Kobe, Wade, Joe Johnson, Ray Allen, and Rip, but he struggles with the bigger, physical players. He is also too light to play against a power forward. But neither one of them are good at defending scoring point guards or smaller jump shooting guards like Terry, Devin Harris, J.R. Smith, J-rich, Baron Davis, Chauncey, etc. I think Wafer has the potential to be that guy, the tweener. Lowery will have to guard the super quick penetrating guards like Paul, Deron, and Parker, cuz Brooks gets burned by all 3. I really think Wafer should definetily be given a chance to stop somebody like that. He certainly has the athleticism for it. Its never too late to learn how to play defense, especially when you practice against Battier and Artest all the time, it's rubbed off on him a little bit. I know we wouldn't have a point guard in the game if we do this, but if we need stops, then we would have 3 different type of defenders to throw out there who could all play solid to great defense.
he is already done for the season, and very likely for his career as well. but our opponent of the first round won't be Dallas but T Blazers who don't include a guy able to kill us.
