I haven't seen too much of Tech. Actually, I just saw this kid for the first time on Sat. He looks the part (tall and more like a WR). We need a game-changer. Cool with the Washington player..just make it happen!

A dominant defense can get it done.

    San Fran's secondary is......ok
But the have 4 elite box players(Bowman,Willis,Aldon Smith, that DT oops forgot his name for a split second.

    Texans have
    (Watt,Cushing) Antonio Smith is close
Give me Clowney or Cj Moseley

I wonder what Matt Ryan's fate would be if he too was 32 years old. Ryan has had a 3 game stretch with 7 ints now.

Anyways, what made schaub a pro bowler was his ability to take in the offense. the coaches always bragged about how much time he spent in the film room. case seems very studious when it comes to offenses. Even with schaub, it wasn't until his second season with the team that you could see him taking the step to be our solution for QB at that time.

I love everything i've seen from Case, except knowing where his security blanket is when Newton lets the flood gates open. That will come with more kubiak time.

running from the pistol, without foster, is bad for us. Wasted downs.

Keenum is playing circles around anything Yates ever did. It's not even close.

Agreed that the system can help QB's. But every system is designed to help QB's. At some point, he needs to show you something on his own...and he's done that. He can extend plays...he makes big plays...he's been inconsistent....I can say that about most of the best QB's in history (and, no, I'm not calling him one of the best QB's in history).

My concerns with Keenum are the concerns I'd expect to have with a first year QB. The same concerns I'd have about whoever we'd draft to take his place.

I know I'm supposed to be super thrilled with the QB class in this draft...but I'm really not.

Yeah..we should totally go find a QB out there who can throw somewhere around 2-3 TD's with no INT's. Let's get on that.

    Oh, wait.

But don't we have to now retroactively look back at the Schaub era differently? Case (what?) in point: Andre Johnson in the red zone - I would have argued until I was (steel) blue in the face that it was all these other factors besides Schaub's inability/unwillingness to force a pass to AJ and let him make a play. Uhm yeah - it was totally Schaub's inability/unwillingness to force a pass to AJ and let him make a play. My bad.

So if we're seeing the same thing repeat itself... I'm just dubious of the whole enterprise at this point. Everyone needs to go. Everyone. Smith, the scouting department, every single coach, all the QBs....... I bascially want AJ and JJ left standing; everyone else: bye-bye, as far as I'm concerned.

This regime has now stained too many players; I have no objectivity. AJ and JJ. That's all I know for sure. (And Duane. Cushing. And this ash tray....)

My brain hurts. I'm Roger Murtaugh. I basically want to slip into a coma and wake up with everything fixed to perfection.

Dont throw the baby out with the bathwater. There is alot of talent still salvageable and a great coach can do some remarkable things with the talent we have. Defintely need to clean house up top down thru the staff.

Seems to be the narrative of this college football season and everyone is just following along. I don't get it either.

I don't see anyone I'm just dying to draft in the 1st round. Even with the #1 pick.

I agree with the "blow it all up" philosophy - but only on the front office and the coaching staff. I think you bring in a smart coaching staff and then give them the opportunity to evaluate the talent and make decisions from there. But they absolutely cannot do what they did last time with interviewing the coaches/GM with a "can you win with Case Keenum (David Carr)?" mentality. You get the best people at the top - not the ones giving you the easiest answers - and then give them free reign on the roster. If they think Case is the guy, so be it. If they don't, so be it also.

Did he, though?.... I'm not trying to be contrarian - but this right here is why these are arguably the 10 most important games in franchise history. Down 21-3, Luck goes 15/27 for 216 yards, 2 TDs, a FG, and a 2-point conversion for a QBR of 106.4. When his team needed him to make plays, he did. Repeatedly. Keenum didn't. And even if Bullock hits one of the FGs and it goes to OT... who are you putting your mortgage on in OT?

There just can't be any uncertainity. Stats are nice but what good is a 21-3 halftime lead if you're stuck on 24 at the end of the game?....... Damn you, Texans - you turned me into my worst nightmare..... I'm ubigred... (no funeral (puts gun in mouth, pulls trigger.....))

Case has done very well. I don't see how anyone can think otherwise. It will be interesting to see how he does the rest of the way. If he plays well I think they pass on a QB and try to compete right away with Case, etc.

Their ceilings are more important to me. I don't presume to know Keenum's ceiling, but Luck's is Best-QB-in-the-game high. He has all the physical tools and the head on his shoulders.

When you have a stud QB, you never/rarely miss the playoffs. Year after year, he covers up your weaknesses. With the right team, Keenum can take us to the playoffs, but I don't personally think he'll ever be good enough to cover up our weaknesses year after year and guarantee 8 playoff appearances in the next 10 years.

If we are going the texans traditional route under Rick Smith, then we are drafting for value.. if its a top 5 pick and we can nab a young qb, then you do it.

You always draft the BPA, regardless of position; the highest ranked player on your board.
In the NFL, you can never count on any player playing a whole season, you want the highest competition for every position in camp, you want the best "next man up" you can get.

I really think Marcus Mariota will be a star in this league and you can't pass up the opportunity to get him if he's on the board. I could be wrong, but from watching him play and analysis from top scouts.. it would hard to pass him up...

i dont think he would be that good in the nfl to be honest, reminds me a lot of kaepernick... you would have to have a stacked team around him for him to win
