He can ruin team chemistry pretty effectively.

P1S2, Portland bought out Kemp. What was surprising about it when it happened was that Kemp agreed to accept only 25 of the 46 million left on the deal.

He still grabbed more rebounds and scored more than Yao Ming. He may be a gimp but he is a gimp that can play. Remember, Philly was out of playoff contention before CWebb.

SacTown with Webber...34-20 without Webber 16-12
Philly without Webber 26-28 with Webber 17-11

You can say it is all a coincidence that where ever he goes they win but he is a loser or you can admit the fact that he might be overpaid but he is still pretty darn good.

Philly will regret this trade. Weber is done, his peg leg will not withstand a full NBA season without an injury. He will be an habitual IL player and the Rox will not give him a sniff.

Old guy that has lost most of his athleticism. Hmmmm..... Sounds like a lot of other players on this team. We don't need more old guys with large contracts.

I think Florida would be better for Webber. They have lots of retirement homes there.

I didn't read any of the reply's on this topic, but I am sure someone said "...all Webber does is shoot outside jumpers..."

---To those that said that, Juwan did that all year, and Webber would be a upgrade in every way over Juwan.

And I'm sure someone said this too "...Webber is injury prone, and he played on one leg..."

---To those that said this, where was Juwan in the playoffs? Obviously he was hurt, and how will you know he will be the same player he was this year... next year???

After any injury no one is ever 100% healed, and no one is ever certain what is to come after a injury.

    Webber > Juwan

As weird as it is to say it, I don't think I agree with that. Both of them are on the downward spiral, and Juwan was never the player Webber was, but at this point Juwan seems to be less injury prone. That's important.

Anyway, even if Webber does > Howard, he's still far from the best realistic option. There are probably 10-15 options that are both better and feasible.

    No, gracias.

Webber is like the L.A. Clippers... disappears when the playoffs start.

Maybe we should ask why Webber isn't.

If we didn't have to give up too much, I'd take him. Mutombo when he was with the Knicks was pretty much viewed as out of commission and had nothing left in the tank. Van Gundy got his butt back on track and was playing like a more youthful Mutombo. I think Webber could get back in game shape under Van Gundy. The man has an inate ability to get a player's physical ability to it's limit so I think he could get Webber back in true game shape. He's still one of the best passers in the game, and offers one of the more consistent mid range jumpers in the game. As long as he's willing to defer to Yao and T-Mac I don't see why it couldn't work. Having another player that knows how to run the PnR, and knows how to make a post pass into Yao would be a breath of fresh air. I say if possible get Webber.

Also the man has a reputation for being a career loser, but statistically if you look at his numbers during crunch time he's won a number of game winners. He's done it against the Rockets a few times as well to my knowledge. Blame Peja for sucking it up in playoff time. Don't defer all the blame to Webber. How quickly you all forget Peja's airball that was a good 3 feet right of the basket when he had an opportunity to get the Kings the lead in game 7 against the Lakers.
