I wish people would do their own research before making statements.

    Official CBA text...

Article VII, Section 7, Subsection c.)4.

    (4) In no event may a Team with a Team Salary at or above the Salary Cap renegotiate a Player Contract.

Article VII, Section 7, Subsection d.)1.

    (1) In no event shall a Team and player negotiate a decrease in Salary for the then-current Season (or upcoming Season in the event of a Renegotiation entered into from August 1 through the day prior to the first day of the Season), or for any remaining Season of a Player Contract.

Philadelphia is well over the cap and couldn't renegotiate CWebb's contract. Even if they could, they can't decrease the salary.

I don't think this part of the CBA will be changing.

No,because his knees are shot and he has no elevation left in his game.I think the way things went in Philly will hurt his value around the league, but goofier things have happened.

The next person brought in needs to be young and athletic.

We don't need more dust on this team.

Why do you need Weber when you have Juwon Howard?

This isn't Michigan st, and all we need is another jump-shooting power forward past his prime.

    dharocks,

You need to read about Shawn Kemp renegotiating his salary down to easy the burden on the Magic at the time.

Question: Do you think Houston could be good for Webber?
Answer: Houston is good for Webber, but Webber is not good for Houston. He could stand in a corner and shoot jumpers all day because of the attention the McDynasty demands. He can't play a lick of defense or rebound though. CWebb is a nice guy but he plays on one leg.

Shawn Kemp ended up in Orlando because Portland bought out his contract not he took less money to go to Orlando big difference.I guess maybe the coke market was better in Florida than Oregon.

If we could have him for 3 years at the MLE? Great! Especially if he didn't want to take a ton of shots.

At his salary that we can't change? HELL NO!

Webber, sadly, would fit pretty well. He's a good rebounder, still...and has that 12 foot jumper that we need (and much more range to boot).

Way out of our price range, though.

Agree. Also his defense is horrible and he has a HUGE contract that is going to put the 76ers in salary cap hell for the next 4-5 seasons.

the better question would be: do you think webber could be good for houston?

we already know we would be great for him.

Even if we could get Webber, the answer is no. That guy is done with. If he keeps up his dismal play he should keep his dignity and retire.

We already have Webber and his name is Juwan Howard. Other than better passing what can Webber do "now" that Howard can't? They both can hit the elbow jumper and grab a few boards but that's about it. In fact to me Howard looks MORE mobile than Webber these days.

I like Webber, and it is sad to see how his knee injury has robbed him of his athleticism! He is a shadow of his former self. I mean even Kidd looks better after microfracture than Webber does.

    Webber is done!

I don't think Webber would work out here. He's a high post player sorta like Yao, plus I think Webber would move further outside in order to make room for T-Mac's drives and I don't want Webber popping 3 pointers all night long.

This says nothing about his fat-ass contract, injuries, the fact that he's considered a cancer by some, and everything else out there. Plus, we need to get younger.
