Garnett killed any chance the T-Pups might have with his huge contract. He accounts for half of the teams salary next year and they are over the cap. In addition it keeps ballooning up. In 3 years he will be making almost 30 million dollars a year. ------------------ Don't come in Bullard's house!
I think we should get Rashard Lewis by getting rid of Mo Taylor and Shandon Anderson, we need him back home! ------------------
I like ZRB proposal. Isn't trading your best player in history (Olajuwon) and your future superstar and backbone a little harsh, scary, and extreme? Even if it is KG. Moochie-Not quite so. Minnesota's first rounders aren't exactly equal to the Bulls. They have Wally and Brandon to support, and we saw what Nesterovic can do. Garnett is still what, 23? He hasn't even hit his prime. And with the exception increasing to around 4 million, Minnesota isn't in that bad shape. Now let's all stay away from any Hakeem trades until the man comes out and asks for a trade. Leave the guy alone! ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. Follow the rules or be assimilated. Shandon is underrated.
You know, everyone is always looking for these blockbuster trades, partly because it is fun, and partly because it is easy to imagine the Rockets better with a different bunch of guys on the court. But I don't think we need anymore of these blockbuster trades. We can't drastically change our team each year, and expect to keep getting better, even if we do pick up some decent guys. When we were a champion contender, it was okay to trade for Pippen, or Drexler, or whoever we thought might help us, because we still had our good nucleus that knew how to play together, and could still put up good numbers. But now, with all these young guys, and Steve as the center of it all, we need to have some stability year to year, and let them get their chemistry down before we start changing their environment drastically. I say, keep Hakeem, use his space to sign SA, and if possible, MoTay (but he is not as important because he only showed up this year). We need this cap room as much as any other team that might trade for it. ------------------ She hates testicles, thus limiting the men she can admire to Democratic candidates for president. -- John Greenway, "The American Tradition", on feminist Elizabeth Gould Davis
The is no way in the world Rudy will trade Stevie, PERIOD!!!!!! ------------------ Miggidy Markell says: 1. Eastcoast is da sh*t 2. Rockets rule 3. Hip/Hop is dope 4. Buy the new Ruff Ryders album! Miggidy Markell is watching Stay STRAPPED & WATCH ya back or be Assimilated.
if a garnett/avery for steve/dream/bull(salary cap) then rudy would most probably pull the trigger. He along with me, and many other fans love steve. But Kg is better for now and is more versatile. he can play 4 spots on the floor. Plus, KG said he would swim the ocean to play for Rudy. Who in the hell is Bob freakin' Rainy!? Trading Francis? Somebody just fell out of the coo-coo nest. ------------------ Francis, use the Chronicle for toilet paper from now on-Rocketbooster
All things being equal... If it were a 1 for 1 and money and the cap were not an issue....(which they are, BUT...) I would trade SF for KG KG is one of the top 3 or 4 players in the league and can dominate a game on several levels and both ends of the court. (and will be for the next decade). In my mind you would have to acquire Duncan or Shaq to get a player on the level of KG. I love Steves game, but he is not in the class of KG. Anyone that knows hoops and is not blinded by Rocket bias, will agree. [This message has been edited by stringthing (edited December 08, 2000).]
