Our team seems to have a growing defense and has played fairly well over the course of this season. Our team has no defining problems except for the running back position, and the lack of a great defensive cornerback.

I'm not sure how high we will be in the draft this year, but should we continue to draft for our defense, or maybe bolster our already exceptional offense.

How many picks would you trade to move up high enough to get Suh?

1st round has to be patrick robinson CB fla. st. due to dunta leaving.

2nd and 3rd rounds have to be strong mobile OG and smash mouth RB in either order.

4th round should be OLB to see if we can improve upon zac diles.

DL needs to come through free agency, like Casey Hampton. Resign Pollard, and give Demeco and Owen new contracts.

    Dunta, Pitts, and Walter walk.

I don't see any way possible he gets past Tampa Bay who should have a top 3 pick. St. Louis and Cleveland could also have top 3 picks but they need a franchise quarterback so they could past on Suh. I doubt anytime in top 3 would trade their pick as a result.

I really hate that I have to start thinking about the draft this time of year...every year.

    1. coach
    2. O-line
    3. D-line
    4. corner back
    5. safety
    6. running back

I'm always against taking running backs early but at its a pretty big need at this point.

If not a back than a corner or sighhh another defensive lineman...

Trade for MJD and improve your O-line a bit and I can see you guys being like the Saints offensively.

Texans need help at the Offensive Guard position. Antoine Caldwell should replace Chris Myers next year at center. Typically, guards are not drafted in the first day unless it's a special player like a Steve Hutchinson. Texans have a couple of solid tackles in Duane Brown and Eric Winston so that shouldn't be a need. The guard position could be filled later in the draft.

    1st round - Patrick Robinson - CB - Florida St. - 5'11 194 - 40: 4.34 - talent

    2nd round - Mike Johnson - OG - Alabama - 6'5 305 - beast run blocker

    3rd round - Charles Scott - RB - LSU - 5'11 233 - smash mouth runner

    4th round - Perry Riley - OLB - LSU - 6'1 245 - good size for WLB - + instincts

    5th round - Jordan Lake - FS - Baylor - 6'2 203 - developmental reserve

    2010:

    OFFENSE:

QB - Schaub/Orlowski (Schaub is our man)

RB - Slaton/Scott (slaton and scott should split time 50/50)

FB - Leach/Casey (the human coke machine cometh)

WR - Johnson/Jones (A.J., no more need be said)

WR - Davis/Anderson (losing Walter hurts but TE's and Davis should help)

TE - Daniels/Casey (should see a lot of 2 TE sets)

LT - Brown/Butler (Brown develpoing into fine LT)

LG - Studdard/Free Agent (may find a free agent better than Studdard)

C - Caldwell/White (cant get any worse than myers at center)

RG - M. Johnson/Caldwell (Rookie Johnson would be vast improvement)

RT - Winston/Butler (Winston is now a borderline Pro Bowler)

    DEFENSE:

RE - Williams/Bulman (a healthy mario should bounce back)

RT - Okoye/Cody (Okoye's 4th season has to be the ONE)

LT - Hampton/Okam (hampton is big time run stuffer the team needs)

LE - Smith/Barwin (needs to continue to improve)

    SLB - Cushing/Diles (Cushing = Beast)

    MLB - Ryans/Bentley (resign Ryans)

WLB - Riley/Diles (Riley should be more of a playmaker than Diles)

SS - Pollard/Barber (Bringing back Pollard is a must, guy is a monster)

FS - Wilson/Lake (wilson has one more good year left in him)

CB - P. Robinson/McCain (Robinson is the real deal when healthy, does it all)

CB - Quin/Reeves (Quin is becoming a very physical corner)

Nickel CB - Reeves/Bennett (Nickel is a better fit for Reeves and his speed)

    Thoughts?????

BPA , possibly not a LB but I would still take McClain.

And we are getting a better pick every week!

Best available from the following positions in the first 4 rounds, then best available at any position in 5-7.

    RB, G/C, DT, FS, CB.

Guys we should target with our potential top 10 pick..

    1) Eric Berry (S) Tennessee: Mr "Do It All" defensive back. Plays safety but is projected to play corner in the NFL. Ed Reed clone

    2) Joe Haden (CB) Florida: Outstanding athlete with good size and excellent speed who is a willing tackler.

    3) Taylor Mays (S) USC: Roy Williams II? Hopefully not, "hits like a linebacker, runs like a corner".

    Guys that could intrigue:

Im not sold on drafting a DT but this draft is DT rich in Gerald McCoy from OU and Terrance Cody from Alabama.

Also, Rolando McClain (LB) Alabama: BEAST who is said to be a bigger, faster, stronger, DeMeco Ryans
