Brewer, KJ, Harrell, first round pick, maybe Onuaku for PJ Tucker and Tyson Chandler. We could offer to also swap the second round DEN and POR picks that we own for their second round pick. Their pick would be a little bit higher, but then they would have 2 chances to try to find a productive player instead of one, but that wouldn't need to be a hangup for a deal either.

The Suns are terrible. I don't know what they want to do (I don't follow the Suns at all), but surely they would be looking to get younger. We might have a hard time convincing them to take Brewer, they would probably ask for Dekker instead, but KJ, Harrell, and Onuaku or picks would help them to get younger and develop more players. Meanwhile, Tucker and Chandler would greatly help our defense and rebounding and Tucker can be a pretty good spot up 3 point shooter.

Then try to sign Chalmers or Norris Cole

Suns' coach Earl Watson has stated over and over that Tyson Chandler is not going anywhere. That Chandler actually wants to stay with the Suns, even if rebuilding. Crazy, I know, especially for a guy on pushing 35 on a rebuilding young team, but Suns' coach has not been nearly as emphatic about Brandon Knight or PJ Tucker.

The Rockets can improve via trade, and it might bring some energy in a time when that's down, but they need two more stars to win the title. Probably not worth a puddle jump if you can't see the shoreline.

Would love to get Tucker if possible. KJ and one of our seconds enough to get it done?

The biggest haul of players or stars is there during summer time.

I would say minor deal or no deal. I would be mildly surprised if a borderline allstar would be available....
but you never know with guys like Ibaka.

it's extremely hard to win in this era because of super teams. That said, we need to gamble as much as possible with trades so we can form our own super team. It's just how the NBA is. If we just wait for FAs every season, then we'll slowly waste away Harden's prime without being real contenders.

Besides a 2nd star, we have two obvious holes on this team:

    1) Rim protection
    2) Brewer

I think whatever we do, we shouldn't compromise our long term flexibility. To me, that means taking on potentially deadweight contracts beyond summer 2018. I don't mind adding salary for next season.

Something like McDaniels, Denver's 2017 2nd and Gentile for Will Barton. Barton gives us some of what Brewer does but with a more well rounded offensive game.

Rim protection isn't an easy fix. We've already got 3 centers, so one has to go out to fit in another, and I wouldn't want to trade for someone that we will have to bench against Golden State or Cleveland. I'd bypass a trade here and see who becomes available after buyouts. Here's a few names I would watch...

    Tiago Splitter
    Andrew Bogut
    Taj Gibson

Assuming we can't sign any of those guys, I still think we've got a good, well rounded playoff roster with the addition of Barton.

    Harden / Gordon
    Beverley / Barton
    Ariza / Barton
    Anderson / Dekker
    Capela / Nene - Harrell

Brewer and all the non-playing bench guys for Westbrook.. they aren't contending anymore.. It will be a battle of who can pass to the other more? Westbrook or Harden?

Aside from rim protection, getting a serviceable rebounding defensive C might be just as important in going up against teams like Memphis or Utah. Rockets need to "get past them" before they can even think about GSW or Cleveland.

That's fair, though I'd argue that they have to match up with us just as we do with them. The slower, plodding players with struggle with our athleticism at center. I'd be ok with that if we would remove Brewer from the rotation.

Wrong trade: Michael Beasley. MDA does not use other bench players showing to Morey that he needs to trade out those player snd input some useful player. How to trade out those non useful players to replace useful players?

let's face it, it's been painfully obvious since at least a full month now that this team desperately needs a roster shakeup to improve multiple areas including rebounding, ballhandling, and just plain depth. and behind-the-curve morey is clearly content to just kick the can and waste yet another mvp season from harden. fatty simply isn't going to sabotage his summer reservation at the private room blackjack table. he's had over a decade now and i'm become less and less confident that his methodology will ever be able to yield a contender.
