“We will be less likely to make a move this year, but I have to always listen – as you don’t get many opportunities with a team this good,” Morey said. “If we do any moves, they will likely be for depth.”

If we can just cash in some of our useless players (Sewer, KJ, Ennis, Bobby) into one or two more serviceable guys it could go a long way. Even if it's a guy like Randy Foye, I believe it would help tremendously.

Remember a few weeks ago when everyone was afraid to make a trade for chemistry reasons? :p

Cavs really aren't anything special, if there was no conferences they would have 0 finals apperances past two years and wouldn't make the finals this year either.

Ok, so if people are done blowing the Warriors and Cavs rosters..

OKC took the Warriors to 7 last season. Then the Cavs beat the Warriors. And the Warriors won 73 regular season games last season.

This team has something different. We don't need to acquire a star to win it this season.

If we acquire Melo though, then yeah it's the Cavs and Warriors.

Yes we need to make a trade. We need some combo of C, 3&D wing, and PG.

What "future?" You mean our guys no one outside of Houston cares about? You guys do this every season. "We can't trade him! He's our future!" Morey ***** these guys out every draft. All replaceable. Give me smart vets right now instead. A bunch of late 1st rounders is our future? That's a very lottery bound future to me.

I don't buy this. People probably said the same thing in the 80s. Celtics and Lakers being the Warriors and Cavs and the Sixers being the Spurs of today. But, the Pistons came out of nowhere to win 2 and 1 game away from 3 in a row, and the Blazers went twice and our very own Rockets went twice.

The 2000's was full of fans who thought there was no point bc the Lakers were going to win, but the Kings didn't buy it and were honestly the better team before being robbed. The Blazers didn't buy it and were ready to beat them before melting down. Then the Pistons came out of nowhere with a few trades and won it all and became contenders for half a decade straight.

Our very own Rockets won 2 at a time when everyone figured the Bulls would just win every year.

I get that Magic and Bird's careers started ending early. I get that MJ retired in 94 and he was rusty in 95. I get that the Lakers had chemistry and locker room issues when they lost. But, that's the point. We can't predict the future. We don't know if weak ankle Curry or frail foot Durant fall apart or Draymond gets suspended for a series. We can't predict that a major injury finally gets LeBron after playing in the NBA since 18 or Kyrie or Love go down again like 2015.
I have been a big hater of Harden and his lack of D and effort the past few seasons, but i understand that this dude is a legend and it's our very best shot. You can't waste it by giving up and saying no one outside of GS and CAVS stand a chance. No, i highly doubt we build a Pistons team with amazing defense, and no Harden isn't Magic, nor does he have a Worthy or Kareem equivalent as a teammate, but i see no reason why he can't be compared to Drexler leading the Blazers. Those Blazers were a team of very solid role players surrounding Drexler and one other all star reserve in Terry Porter and former 3x all star many years removed in Buck Williams.
Clippers more than likely end up getting Carmelo without trading one of their big 3 and it's only going to make things harder for us so we need to be aggressive in pursuit of someone like Paul Millsap and some older vets who are smart. Hell, maybe GS is open to discussing Iggy considering they won't be able to afford him and could lose him for nothing in the offseason. Maybe try and snatch Jamall Crawford from the Clippers. But, first that 1 other all star before the deadline is absolutely crucial if we run into a crazy chance or injury to an opponent in the playoffs bc most of those top teams can still beat us(as is) minus one of their big 3.

This team actually can use another chucker like Nick Young.

And this is not a crazy idea.

Nick Young can and will shot whenever he touches the ball, and that actually may not be a bad thing under this system.

He is a decent 3 point shooter this year and he will definitely be an upgrade over Brewer in every way you can think about, this is the perfect system for him.

If Morey can dump Brewer + other garbage with a protected top 20 first round pick for Nick Young, he should do it.

Was offered Nick Young for a 2nd round pick (in the summer?) and rejected it.

And the Lakers also admitted they never thought Nick Young will be this good (at least compare to his previous records) this year also.

Trade for Jimmy Butler, give them Ariza, Dekker, unprotected 1st, rights to Llull and two 2nds. Push all the chips to middle of the table to get Butler then offer a max contract to RFA Nerlens Noel next season.

    Harden
    Bev-Gordon
    Butler
    Ryno
    Noel-Trez

That's one hell of a starting 7. It's balanced offensively and defensively. Throw in a couple of cheap high energy role players, maybe another 40% 3 point shooter or two from NBADL or a foreign team, and it's a wrap.

Zhou Qi - ultimate stretch 4 at 7'2 or small ball center w/7'8 wingspan and great shot blocking instincts
Kyle Wiltjer - stretch 4 who is shooting guard in power forward body; best pure shooter in his draft class
Gabe York - athletic combo guard at 6'3 190 who shoots 41% from 3
Jamaal Franklin - averages triple double in 2 seasons in CBA; 6'6 200 wing who is also a menace on D
Allessandro Gentile - 6'7 230 Italian version of James Harden; very strong, crafty scorer who is adept at changing speed and has great feel in passing game but lacks D
