Do the majority of Rocket fans hate the modern Utah Jazz and why?

I don't like the flopping but I hate the Mavs more than any other team. I like SOME of the players on the Jazz... mainly D Williams.

I didn't like the 90's version of the Jazz b/c refs called the game based on reputation. The flopping thing is obvious, but there were particular things that always got to me.

Karl Malone would get away with hacking on defense when he tried to strip the ball from his defender as the shooter was making a move. Malone would also initiate a lot of contact on both ends, but would complain to refs about any sort of contact while he is on offense.

I never liked John Stockton's haircut, and Hornacek's free throw routine was simply obnoxious.

I don't have too much of a problem with the newest version of the Jazz. Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer play with passion and seem to be working hard to improve individually for the benefit of the team.

But like anyone who plays against the Rockets, I am not partial and dislike them because they are good.

I've never hated the Jazz, per se.

I always had an appreciation for Jerry Sloan's offense and his abilities as a coach. From a basketball purist standpoint, Utah was a breath of fresh air with its screening, smart decision making and passing ability in an era of slam dunks, turnovers and long bombs.
