How the hell is Simmons supposed to buy in when the GM tries to trade him as his first splash on the squad? It's not like Morey has a track record of doing right by his players every other player he signed had some bad things to say about him and his "honesty": 1. T-Ariza said Morey told him there's no chance he will be retained. 2. Jeremy Lin said he was signed to be the center piece and then he got sidelined in favor of Harden. 3. Dwight said Morey promised him he would be the core of the offense and then when he got here Morey told him to just rebound and block shots. 4. Melo said Morey told him he will be the key to a championship formula and then fired him and almost ended his career prematurely when he went to him to ask what he can do to help the team. 5. Cp3 said Morey told him he wasn't gonna be traded and then traded him right after. 6. Who can forget Slowmile Swift? Rox recruited him hard and then traded him back to the Grizzllies right after he begged to get traded anywhere else but the Grizzlies. Of course you can argue Morey did the right here from a GM POV, but at the same time this is his track record, saying anything and everything to get a guy signed and then doing the exact opposite of what he promised. Simmons isn't born yesterday yeah he might not have ambition to win but he isn't a dummy, he knows by now Morey's history of lies and deceit. It's hard for any player to buy after he knows the team is just waiting for the right time to trade him.
Sounds like this Houston Rockets team is the right place with a Stone led FO as the right organization.
I can bet money this was Jonathan Givony! He was critical of Simmons mental toughness coming in... You gotta hand it to him. His first year in the League Simmons looked absolutely fantastic, and in fact to my eyes he looked a bit nasty and edgy, too. But in the end Givony turned out to be right on character/personality. I gotta say, with Givony and Mike Schmitz ESPN has top-notch draft analysts now. So much better than the Fred Katz years with his "jaw-drop potential" infatuations...
Wouldn’t a Simmons and picks for Kyrie swap be the most sensible thing for both teams right now? The Nets could use a superstar that doesn’t need to take shots and the Sixers need a star wing that can score at a high volume. Plus both team are in dire need of a trade right now. i still would like Simmons if the price is not too high, but the Nets trade makes too much sense for me…
I think that trade makes the most sense for both clubs, hands down. However, if he’s truly looking to start over in a place he “could make mistakes” I’m not sure how long that rope will be in Brooklyn either. There’s a good chance one of Harden or Durant get injured at some point in the season and then the pressures and expectations will be the same as what it is in Philly today.
1) Kyrie has threatened to retire if traded 2) Rockets have all the Nets picks ___________________________________ Comes down to Morey doesn't want to trade for a retired player and a bunch of 2nd rd picks Wall would at least play and the picks would be at least one first rounder
I would expect the Sixers to throw in a pick. I at least think that Kyrie is more value able than Simmons - I might be wrong after the recent drama though.
Kyrie doesn't want to be forced to take vaccine or show proof. Who's to say Pennsylvania won't fall in the same steps as California and New York? Meaning Kyrie can't practice or play in over half the games without proof of vaccine.
LOL. Who is the superstar? Simmons? And you miss the fact he wants to have his own team and have the ball in his hands A LOT, how does that happen with Harden and Durrant?
