I didn't see any proof that the driver was texting....he/she might have been drunk or high for all we know. Also, filming while driving isn't the safest activity either.
I love how some of you are like, show me the proof! Are you trying to deflect the seriousness of texting while driving? THIS driver was swerving all over the road ...but it only takes one swerve. Mythbuster's had an interesting show where they concluded talking on the phone is MORE dangerous than driving while drunk ...per their tests. Their conclusion was that the congnitive skills required to be in an "engaged" phone call diverts your concentration off the task more so than being drunk. So I'd imagine texting is FAR more dangerous. I heard somewhere (can't remember but I beleive it) that texting is 5x more dangerious than driving drunk. ...but this person is clearly a really bad driver on top. Also, WHO CARES if filming is dangerous too. Personally, I've never filmed while driving but I'm sure 90% of us on this BBS has texted while driving. So the lesson here is texting while driving is bad. This is a reminder of that. If it makes you feel better, if you see somebody else texting ...don't film them doing it.
lol from experience, i can definitely say i find it much harder to drive drunk than to text/call and drive. i never drive drunk anymore, but will pick up a call.
I think both texting and talking on a phone while driving should be illegal everywhere. Whenever someone is driving incredibly slower than the flow of traffic they are on their phone 9 times out of 10.
I heard somewhere too that having sex while driving is 10X more dangerous then driving drunk but you don't see Mythbusters doing a episode on that. I think the real issue isn't texting while driving, but Mythbusters and their unwillingness to test these real pressing issues.
I text while driving all the time. One or two letters at a time. ...this guy must have been typing a couple sentences before looking up at the road again. be safe while texting and driving guys.
Nope.....but if your going to accuse somebody of texting and driving, you need to show proof otherwise how do we know?
the title should be dont let teens drive. their brains are still developing and everyone else with real life obligations are left in peril to this clueless generation.
Wow, I've texted while driving on some occasions, usually at stops though, but when I'm on the move I don't think I do ninja swerves like that dude. He has a serious problem, there has to be more than just texting. Nowadays I have an auto-type where 0 would come out as "driving, will reply as soon as asap" Now freeway texting is absolutely unacceptable. Should be punished as an attempted murder.
I've thought about getting a stick shift, simply so I wouldn't be tempted to talk/text while driving. It's a pretty bad vice of mine.
And people wonder why we have so many laws "infringing on our right" to live our life unhindered by government intervention. Idiots like this make "common sense" laws necessary to protect the rest of us from their idiocy.
I imagine it's pretty hard to text/talk when you don't have a free hand a significant amount of the time you're driving.
