He could have thrown it towards the Warriors basket and they would have had a hard time scoring in less than a second even if they stole it. Livingston was inches away from winning the game. Never throw it toward your own basket!
he did throw toward the Warriors basket, that's what almost cost the game. he should have thrown toward the rockets basket. I think your terminology is screwed up.
Technically, it's yours. Golden State tries to score on the basket that the Rockets defend and vice versa, so the basket they defend is their own basket. That's why you hear coaches/commentators say "never save the ball under your own basket" because it's an easy putback for the offense. If you're gonna be a smart ass, at least be smart.
Isn't the job of the coach to realize that Ariza should not be sending the inbounds in????? Or is it the GM that packaged away all his ball handlers for NOTHING in return????? Can't wait for the off season for some house cleaning.....this team is very funky
Has anyone asked Aliza wtf he was thinking on the last inbound ? It was hard for me to even enjoy the win because of how he so casually almost gave it away THREE times!
The first inbound that he threw away to the Warriors you can see him the corner of the screen with his hands up in the air like "why you no catch by sorry pass??" Infuriating.
Ariza is usually one of the more intelligent players -- at least since he returned to the Rockets. He doesn't gamble too often, and he, for the most part, takes smart shots. He occasionally takes a stupid mid range step back jumper, but he doesn't turn the ball over a lot, or make bad passes. Last night was the exception to the rule, hopefully.
Our lack of success at inbounding is fueled by the same reason our offense looks so ISO - centric. No one one on the roster is good at creating separation, due to a lack of speed and quickness.
That was a combo of Ariza being ignorant and JBB's inability to design an inbounds play!!! both, almost cost us Game 3 lol
That last pass y'all... My heart stopped when he let it go. Shocked, it didn't even matter if he threw it to a warrior under their goal, to throw it right at the basket is just a blunder. Ariza is a veteran, what up with that?
JBB probably presents a nervous energy and so guys do stupid stuff. Present confidence, coolness, calmness.....as the leader that rubs off on the team. How dumb do you have to be with one second left. Just throw it towards the Warriors basket....if they steal it they so what. Still have to get control of the ball and shoot a 3/4 court shot in one second. Just put Dwight and Capella in and throw it up to them. **** this team is dumb.
