Mmkay. I crossed my fingers, and pray that Francis will be valuable piece in this team. Veteran, point guard, role player, superstar, whatever...just a valuable piece.
Who cares? These guys are professionals, I'm sure they've heard worst and played through it. Honestly, as dead as TC has been, I'd be very surprised to hear those chants. You got to remember that one of the main reasons those chants started were because we got just Francis back. Fans wanted to see him.
I do not understand your explanation. So we do not chant " We Want Steve", so that it will not pressure SF3, the players and the coaches? Since when chants like this upset the players? The only reason we make chants is to show our support for the player.......... Yeah, i know that he say he will cry when the next chant starts, but i "think" its a cry of happiness of knowing that he is still in heart of rox fans, instead of crying of frustration of not being able to play.
Just a question... how can anyone be a fan of this team yet not want a player to help contribute to wins? If he makes this team better what is the problem? Oh yea.... and dude..... bucket..... if you were using reverse psychology it worked. Otherwise... refer to the "fail" diagram. lol
After the Indiana choke job, you want to take away our only reason to be hopeful? Our chant, their reaction is probably the ONLY communication we fans have with our team. We fans love our Rockets and if you try to curtail one of our expressions of that fan-ness, sorry, people will chant "We Want Steve" in spite of you.
I know he's not the passing type of PG, but at least he can penetrate to the basket and get to the FT line....unlike Reefer. But I'm not going to chant that crap....heard it last season in the opening game vs. the Blazers. So dumb. I can be patient w/ AB. The guy has a shot and can penetrate, but still in rookie status. He's being groomed to become the future PG of the Rockets....so it will take a little time for him.
Which part of this: "To the OP, do you really think the coaching staff cares what the fans want? They do not check clutchfans to take advice from people like you who are saying do not chant such and such. This thread is r****ded and pointless, being a rockets fan should have no limits to say wtf I want at the game. I could yell over and over "Trade Tmac for Marbury" Would that doing anything? no" is sarcasm, oh mentally gifted one? I guess you actually mean one of the following: 1. the coaching staff does care about what the fans want, and they check clutchfans to read what they're saying. 2. this thread is making a very good point, rockets fans shouldn't be able to say whatever they want at games 3. yelling "trade t-mac for marbury" would be foolish and counterproductive and it could negatively impact the team.
No offense, but that is an underwhelming comment. For my true reaction, bold: That's the stupidiest logic I've ever heard. Anyway, just because Francis is from the same class bears no impact as to how well he should be playing now. You surely can't compare somebody like Francis to Andre Miller, or Jason Terry. Francis relies on his athletism, and while some of it still there, he's going to suffer from losing it, while the three you mentioned relies more on skill than athletism (David is sort of bordering on both). I'm not disputing that Francis may make a successful comeback, but saying that he will because Miller, Davis and Terry are is just....
I don't think that chant is coming back any time soon. I still hope, but doubt, Steve will come back after the All-Star break.
This thread was out of the usual... and a bit weird. The OP's argument to backup his thread was even weirder. "Don't chant Steve name or else he's going to cry." "Why do you hate Steve so much that you want him to cry, don't chant his name!!!" omg. I'm pretty sure he's just saying that to show appreciation to the fans, he's not really going to cry dude. I mean after all, he's a grown effin' man. What are you Bucket, a 13 year old half-breed emo/hippie kid? I nominate this as the Most Annoy Thread of the Year. Oh btw, WE WANT STEVE.
i'm all for the chants, not because i necessarily want steve back right away, but because ANY type of chanting or cheering in the toytota center will be a nice surprise.
Chanting for players to get in the game that aren't in the rotation is effectively chanting for players currently in the rotation to be benched. It isn't fair to the players the coaches has decided to play. I'm all for more noise in Toyota Center. But make it count and actually cheer for the guys who're playing.
Screw that! With all the effort on Stevie get in to close shape he would ever had, i think he deserve to get to the rotation. I still like SF3 game.
WE WANT STEVE! WE WANT STEVE! Many of us long time Rockets are still rooting for Steve, and will let him know how much we appreciate him, support him and are still wanting him to make a full recovery. Steve has done a lot for this city and the Houston Rockets, I will not let someone tell me what I can and can't chat at a game that paid hard earned money to attend. Sorry but... WE WANT STEVE! WE WANT STEVE!
I'm glad there are still so many Stevie fans on the board. He's not much of a player anymore, he's only 31 so he isn't exactly at that age where he can't come back from an injury. But we gotta respect the guy for putting us on the map after Hakeem retired. I wanna hear some "We Want Steve" chants. It will encourage the guy to get back into playing shape so he can compete for a job in the rotation. And it will also make the crowd make some noise for once.
Come on durvasa, you're giving us fans way too much credit and the Rockets' staff not enough as to what actually happens on the court during a game. It would actually be interesting, but disastrous, if they did listen to our chants. And we all know the reasons why we are the fans and they are the staff.
