I find it interesting how many times I've seen mention of a civil war in the last couple of weeks. If I wanting to foment a civil war in the US, the first thing I'd do is not say, "we need to start a civil war", but talk about others starting a civil war, and get the idea out there - get people thinking about it so they can get used to it. The paranoiac in me suddenly sees a sudden flood of references in different contexts to civil war in the public sphere and finds it a bit coincidental. BTW, along similar lines, I think if RL is a Russian troll, the Kremlin should be asking for their money back. I'd like to think they'd have higher professional standards. On something like a newspaper comment system, where you can post anonymously, you can drop endless crazy comments. But on a system like Clutchfans, with persistent identities, ideally, you'd want someone that is maybe fairly hard conservative and but vaguely sympathetic to lull people in. they would seem sane a lot of the time, and only drop the really hardcore stuff at regular intervals, to lull people into paying attention to them and trusting them. Right now, when RL comes with his shtick, people wall it off as more "out there" RL content - fodder for jokes, like toycen threads about aliens and conspiracy theories. He's the guy on the street corner trying to get you to vote for Lyndon LaRouche. People just walk right on by and tune them out. RL is a sledgehammer. A good fake political agitator identity would be more of a scalpel. If the Kremlin is incompetent enough to spend their agitprop budget on RL, we should probably severely downgrade their threat potential. RL is the kid who just became a born again Christian and can't talk about anything but Jesus, in all sorts of contexts where it is inappropriate, even after it becomes a bit of a joke. He's found something to believe in, and can't understand when others don't see things as he does.

The 45-year-old San Pedro man is scheduled to be sentenced in July, when he will face up to 10 years in prison. He is likely to receive a far lighter punishment, however. In pleading guilty, Lloyd acknowledged calling Waters' Washington office on Oct. 22 and leaving a voicemail in which he repeatedly threatened to kill the Los Angeles congresswoman, called her by a racial slur and made a homophobic remark. Lloyd told authorities he made the call after becoming angered while listening to a report on talk radio that criticized Waters, a Democrat, for making critical comments about Trump, an arrest affidavit showed. "We'll kill you," the transcript reads. "You can call the FBI, you can call the NSA, you can call whoever the **** you want and report this and try to get a surge or some kind of ****ing phone number. b****, if you do it again, you're dead. You're a ****ing dead ass n——." Through his attorney, Lloyd was apologetic, saying the spur-of-the-moment call came amid a difficult time in his life and that he never had any intent to harm Waters. FYI- you have to be living under a rock politically to not hear the progressive wing of the Dem party (what folks here refer to as Socialists) state that what they want is a “poltical revolution”. Much different that taking up arms against the Union in order to preserve some horrible policy like slavery. The left also fights daily against gun culture and the ability for every day people to go buy weapons of war. The rights fascination with this topic (I hear about it all the time with my right wing family members) just boggles my mind. Do you really know absolutely NOTHING about liberals? It’s just insane to think this is even a remote possibility. The only way a civil war would be a possibility is if one party aligned with a foreign power with a military that can compete with the Unions military. If your idea of a Civil war is peaceful protesting and political organizing... sure. If you have any idea what a war actually looks like in 2018 here in the US against the party in control of our military that you aren’t a moron and should know how insane people who think this is possible sadly have become.
