So I've thought about buying one of these for my apartment to help aid my minor allergies and just breathe cleaner air in general. The ones I am looking at are for medium sized or large sized rooms.

Has anyone here bought one of these? I'd love some feedback. I stared a couple down at Wal-Mart yesterday but walked away.

Part of me thinks they could be a scam.

I don't have allergies so I can't tell you how the air felt, but I did fart in one and the "smell" detector turned on and it began working overdrive. So I don't think it is a scam. Let me make some calls and find out what model that was.

the Holmes True HEPA Allergen Remover works great, but it is loud as hell on full blast and in the summer time it is extremely difficult to keep the air clean with anything.

Those Ionic Breeze, PRO, whatever, I think are a big scam. Buy something that sucks air in.
