I guess it's one of those "smoke-fire" things. Since he's had alcohol problems and smokes lots of dope, the rumors started flying around about him doing coke as well.
Have they already done the pre-sale for the Houston shows or if I join now can I get better seats? (the gf is a big fan & I told her I'd get tix...I'd pay the extra $30 to get good seats)
As far as I know, you should be able to join now and still enter the lottery. It doesn't start until tomorrow.
Dave Matthews seemed sorta messed up when he was the anti-war guest on the new HBO version of Politically Incorrect. As far as smoking in the stands....I dont think you have to worry about it too much....went to a bunch of concerts as a kid with my aunt and uncle and all the second hand pot smoke didnt warp me too much...BWAHHAHAHAHAHA....
Sheesh...you guys sure can't take a joke. I see so many people wearing the "I <3 DMB" tshirts and bumper stickers...and you know everyone makes fun of that by saying "I love DuMB". You guys need to be more like your hero Dave, and smoke massive amounts of weed, and just chill. PS: You call me a troll? Then I'll troll...Dave is the worst entertainer ever...I was at his concert last year and the guy doesn't even know what to say to the crowd other than "thank you very much". Even the stoned out metal artists talk to and entertain the crowd. Didn't even introduce the band. If you like to get high...as did about 80% of the 10,000 in attendance (which were mostly high school/college kids)...then his concerts are definitely for you. He can't really play guitar that well...and I only semi-enjoyed his concert because Tim Reynolds was there (he has some crazy solos). If you want to just listen to Dave and smoke weed...might as well be at home with your CD Player on...cuz it ain't no difference at the concert. He's not very articulate. Have fun.
Yeah, you can only get two to each show. I'm thinking about it and might not go to both...if not, I'll get you some for the other one. That cool?
Are you sure Tim was there? He hasn't played with the band in a number of years . . . Hydra -- I can get tickets for you. I won't be going to that show, so I'd be glad to help out a fellow davehead.
SWEET. Thanks RM. If we are both ever in the Aptos area at the same time, remind me to buy you a beer and a slice. Since Vengeance is gonna hook me up, don't worry about it though. Thanks V.
i currently cant get enough or Red Rocks (their best live CD by far). i'm jamming it as i type. on another note, anyone checkout http://dmb.nntp69.us/. that site has the most extensive collection of DMB concert streams anywhere. it's so tight being able to listen to the guys rock out back in the day (you can stream concerts all the way from '91) or find concerts w/ some really cool special guests. i had been hitting that place up every day for almost 2 months until they went down about 2 weeks ago. they say they'll be back up shortly, but it's already taken too much time IMO. i hope this doesnt have anything to do w/ DMB's new streaming/downloading/sharing policy, although my gut tells me it does. let's just hope that site survives.
I've heard a billion stories from friends about how good DMB live is.. then I saw them 3 times in the past 3 years.. each time it sucked hardcore. Maybe they've lost their edge or something, I just leave each show generally disappointed.
Get this, I'm gonna get to see DMB and Jack Johsnon/Ben Harper in a span of three nights!!!! ewfd, you're a moron.
My hero, the greatest musician/guitarist alive, Doyle Bramhall II, got booked as DMBs opening act for their summer tour last year for a few shows.. if any of you saw him, I hope you really digged it.
No, the only opening acts I saw last year was Soullive, Taj Mahal, and Taj Mahal. I'll have to check him out though.
