I have been to 15+ shows and have always had a good experience; however, there have only been one or two shows where I haven't seen people smoking up. It really just depends on what you want your child to be around. The crowd won't be unruly or rowdy I wouldn't think so that shouldn't be an issue. If you get reserved seats up in the pavillion everything should be just fine. I have only sat on the lawn once and it was about 5 years ago, but I imagine things are a little rougher back there...

that's kinda what i was thinking...it won't be unsafe for him...i don't know about the volume of the music affecting him any more than it affects me and my wife...i don't know to what extent that's an issue. i don't know!!! :)

i'm a recently converted DMB fan and i'm planning on attending the concert in the Woodlands this year. one question though: i know that the pavillion is one of their most popular venues, so i'm wondering why they arent doing their typical 2-night stand?

also, i checkout nancies fairly frequently as well. i wanna see a Yao Ming ad!

Sure enough! Gotta spread it around tho :)

Yeah, I agree. I didn't see that show, but I've got copies of both of the 9/12/00 and 9/13/00 shows. It's too bad, because it doesn't get any better than DMB with BFF. But those shows really did suck, by DMB standards. I dunno, they just seem kindof boring and lifeless. Some of that is because my recordings aren't the best, but really, it just wasn't a good show. Kindof strange, because later in that week, the shows were awesome. 9/18/00 and 9/19/00 are the best shows I've ever heard. 30 minute Two Step on the 19th!

I don't know. I think we got jobbed actually. Ohio and New Jersey get FIVE SHOWS!!! Here in Texas we get only three!! Kindof surprising because CWMP is one of the best venues they play at, and Houson fans are usually some of the best fans around. MUCH better than the crappy Dallas fans.

I don't see any reason not to. Lots of people are smoking, but it's really not all that bad. The DMB crowd is a fun-loving, happy and easy-going group, and I don't see any hassles. The Weed at CWMP in the seats was not too bad this past year. I'd take him. I bet he'll love it, although some of the jams may get a bit long for him to keep his attention. But who knows. You'd also probably have to put him on your shoulders for him to see anything since everyone's standing, but I would definitely take him. I bet he remembers it for the rest of his life :)

yeah...when you have kids, you really want them to experience things...at least i do...and he loves watching their DVD so much...i just think he would go nuts...laughing and singing...i think it would be a blast. i think i'm gonna make it happen.

now to see if my brother-in-law can score me tickets!

Awesome...I've been waiting for my chance to see them since I missed them in '01.

You can only listen to so much live at Chicago, Boulder, Red Rocks, and Listener Supported before you feel a great urge to actually see them!

How good of seats can you get when they go on sale to the public? How quickly will I have to react? Wait by the phone/mouse, or can I expect to get tickets after I get home from school?

Most of the "good" seats are reserved for Warehouse members. Even before that, the best I could ever do was like row RR, and I was first in line at Foleys one time.

So...I should wait/have someone wait by the phone or mouse? Or have my cousin at a Ticketmaster booth?

Man, I am way too excited for something that is so far off.

Could any warehouse member get me two tickets (best available) to the shoreline amphitheater show in mountainview? I will Paypal you the money, but everytime I try to get tickets in the general sale they are sold out. Don't email me through the board, cause I can't access that anymore, just get me at h_wilding@uop.edu, if you can hook me up. BTW, if anyone will help me out, tickets go on sale on the 7th (this friday).

I want to echo what RM95 said. Why did you click on the thread? Did you honestly think this was a "bad-mouth DMB" thread, or did you see a good trolling opportunity and jump on it? I really want to know this.

Does anyone tour more than Dave? I mean, I saw him just recently in summer 2001 in San Antonio. He was all coked up, and didn't respond much to the crowd. One thing that did annoy me was all those bandwagon 14 year olds yelling for him to play the stuff they hear on the radio. Great show, but DO NOT buy tickets for face value through ticketmaster. I got pavillion seats for 1/2 price off ebay a month before the concert last time.

where are you getting that? it's pretty well known he struggled with alcohol..he's been pretty forthright about that. and we know he smokes weed...but coke? i've never heard that before.

maybe it's the same source that says president bush is always snorting up? :)
