Holy crap. I liked that guy coming out of college, but I had totally forgotten about him. I see he hasn't forgotten to eat, though.
I'm from Belgium and speak a bit of Dutch: Talks about his double-double. Says because Gasol was injured he got more PT. And just like you guys said, he talks about his contract expiring, that the next months will be crucial for his career but that he feels confident about the future considering teams such as the Houston Rockets have already expressed interest (is he referring to the interest they expressed in the past or have the Rockets had talks with him recently?). In the comments section, some posters talk about how his PT could increase in Houston because Yao is the only true center over 7ft. Saying that it is his best option sports-wise because Yao is injury prone aswell so his minutes (Yao's) could be decreased next season and Mbenga could get more. LOL, a guy even said, "Right now, with Yao out, Mbenga would be the starting center on the Rockets considering Scola, Andersen and Hayes are all PF's. And he can learn from Yao." Thats it for now.

Ranks #2 in the NBA in Rebounds Per 48 Minutes (17.2) Ranks #1 in the NBA in Blocks Per 48 Minutes (5.21)
They shouldve signed him 2 offseasons ago when he was making minimum instead of wasting time, effort and a phone call on brent barry. I said it then and he would be a great 18 min a night guy. His skills are deke like, but he's younger. He plays hard and does wat is expected.
He's also shooting 37% from the floor, from the center position. and the Per 48 minutes stat is very useless for players not in the rotation, i.e. don't play over 10 mpg. Numbers tend to not extrapolate out in that way. There is no chance he would average 4 blocks a game if he were a starter.
not because he doesn't have that talent but because he would probably foul out before he could play enough minutes. In a bigger role he would need to calm down more on both sides of the ball.
If anything this just reinforces how desperate we've become for any inside presence capable of blocking shots.
I've seen him play a few times this year, and I like what he brings. He can be a very good defensive player for us.
