So we made a dedicated home theater over the summer on a budget. when the time came around for screen, i did the research and found manuals on the AVS forum about what color and mixes I should use. Ive been happy with the results for the past 6 months until I finally got to watch the dark knight in blu ray. as most of you know, there are a TON of dark scenes in the movie, and I was surprised to see that the contrast was not that good. It was really hard to make out people in certain dark scenes.
Ive already calibrated the settings on my projector, and everything else (sports, TV, others movies) looks fine on my screen. Now, the movie that ive wanted to see the most in my own HT is difficult to fully enjoy.

My question is- does my screen need to be a lighter color or darker? any recommendations on the paint? Ive seen the goo systems screen paint and thats about it. My room has a black painted ceiling and very low ambient light. It is a dedicated home theater room. any help would be appreciated. I dont have avs forum membership, and im hoping someone can help me out before I have to go looking farther for answers.

Why can't you register and post on AVS?
