La Carafe on Franklin? (is it still around?) Loved that old bar

There is one here in New York called Rudy's. Best dive bar I've ever seen.

Jukebox that's got anything from Frank Sinatra to Frank Zappa, 6 dollar pitchers, free hotdogs 24-7.

And I do mean dive. Dark, tables and chairs that have been around since the 50s. And the bar keep sports suspenders and a handlebar mustache

Glad to hear someone brought up Cecil's. Got drunk there several years ago (on my 21st). The pool tables are a bonus.

Another old favorite in Houston is The Blue Door, if its still around.

In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.
