I always thought it was the Germans who bombed Pearl Harbor.

While interesting, this theory is still pretty ridiculous. Pearl Harbor would have been saved had it not been for the idiots in charge of inteligence at the time. Although, most people on this board will say that, that parallels to 9/11 as well.. :p

That's actually something that I meant to add to the post, but forgot.

Not only did FDR station troops in Hawaii to die, he purposely denied them the intelligence that they requested. He cut them off, so that they would have no idea what was going on.

If we knew that Pearl Harbor was going to be attacked, the public outcry afterwards is much greater, and is directed to the US.

But since it was a "complete surprise", then we can go and bomb those dastardly, sneaking Japanese, and use the most horrible weapon in the history of mankind to indiscriminately kill men, women, and children, and introduce radiation into the blood and genes of generations of Japanese.

Except that after Pearl Harbor, we didn't attack the Japanese.

Or the Germans who declared war on us.
Or the Italians who decalred war on us.

We attacked the Vichy French in North Africa. FDR lied to the American people to make contracts for his rich friends and abused government money with crazy schemes like building a ship channel to Houston...

How could the voters re-elect him three times after oppressing the world with his hate crimes?

    ;)

dude, you're so off. Frankenstein was behind the channel thing, too!!!

(of course surveying for the Port began in around 1870 and Congress started footing the bill for it in 1872...it was completed in 1925...but I'm sure FDR really controlled that whole thing.

conspiracy theorists amuse me...their presumptions about events they weren't alive for in the face of recorded history baffles me.

While I don't really buy into consipiracy theories - many times they are nothing more than nutjobs going overboard - it would be equally naive to think that every situation exists as it was presented to us.

Reality of a situation isn't always what we are fed.

i don't disagree with that at all. it's the overboard part i find funny. and, as you've seen in this thread...the facts they speculate about are rarely correct.

Actually, that's not true. The intelligence chief officer stationed at Pearl Harbor refused to read an inteligience report on the Saturday night before, mianly because 1) he was going out for the night, and 2) it was 98 pages long. The inteligence officer basically insulted him in demanding him to read the report word-for-word and refusing to paraphrase for him. Ego's came to blows, and the report was never read.

The following day, the US sunk a mini-submarine at the opening gates of the harbor at around 4-5 in the morning. When they called the guy in charge of operations for the base, he 1) was obviously pissed off because it was 5 in the morning, 2) asked if they had any confirmation that it was indeed a Jap sub. and 3) dismissed it as being a whale. The guy in charge of destroying that submarine had only been put in charge the prior day, so he thought it was just a miscommunication on his part. The rest is history.

How FDR comes into this I'm not sure

OK, here's what we've got: the Rand Corporation, in conjunction with the saucer people, under the supervision of the reverse vampires, are forcing our parents to go to bed early in a fiendish plot to eliminate the meal of dinner.

Try wearing a football helmet wrapped in double thickness tinfoil to keep these messages from being beamed inside your head. Works for me.

Here's a conspiratorial scoop that proves Oswald and Ruby were linked: Oswald in a Jam
