I confess I chuckled at the jokes. Kind of comic relief from a sad situation. A lot less offensive than a lot of jokes Leno and Letterman tell on a nightly basis about other people in the public eye with personal problems (but which I laugh at, too). I guess we're all bitter that we wasted our pick on EG, when Jefferson would look real good right in a Rockets' uniform. Or if we could've traded him last year for Rashard. I'd personally rather hear someone providing comic relief, than pouting. Did people joke when the stories came out about Rodman being found sitting alone in a car on night, with a gun in his lap? When Vernon was busted for possession? When Switzer was busted walking through airport security with a gun in his bag? When Jayson Williams "accidently" shot the limo driver? Does Eddie deserve more sympathy than these other public figures? When public figures who have been given so much do so little with what they are given, I don't see the harm in making fun of them. As to the Cub's fan he tried to catch the fly ball, who was not a public figure, and did not thrust himself willingly into the public spotlight in exchange for millions, I feel sorry for that poor soul.
Holee. "Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory" as Jim Shooter said about Valiant's ultimate demise seems to fit so nicely here. He had every opportunity to shine under JVG a coach who values big men and wanted EG to play in the paint. Wasted opportunities. What a shame. I suppose the 21 year old excuse doesn't sit well with anyone anymore. Looks like Eddie is mixed up in some pretty bad stuff, and that is not due to his youth, but to his sheer stupidity... Oh man. What about that contract extension now?
I would love it if some of you were falsely accused for a murder or something. You would know what it feels like to endure CRITICISM for something that you didn't do, it's frustrating. Who truly knows whats going on with Ed, just because a million dollars and a career in the league is enough for most of you to sell your Mom for, maybe he is a little different. Chill out and find a mirror, a-holes.
Its still not too late to get Eddie away from his environment and sort out his problems, so that he might return to the Team.It is very poor sportsmanship for posters to make fun of this situation or to throw Eddie to the dogs. Finally some common decency.
Wow! Checking out the site before my wife tries to put me to work and... Bang! All hell breaks loose. I guess "These are the Days of Eggie's Life", brought to you by a kid with more problems than we thought. And I just wanted him to show up for practice and learn how to dribble. Maybe learn something from Patrick "I sweat more than any other human being! Why ain't I in Guiness??" Ewing.
If anyone really cared about Eddie, wouldn't we form some type of support campaign? We could get some media coverage and let him know that there are REAL FANS that are concerned about his well-being here in Houston, instead of just wins and losses.
weird, i had a dream last night about where I heard about adrian griffin dying, but it wasnt from a shootout, it was some kind of internal disease. seriously weird.
MSNBC just reported that a woman was shot at Eddie's residence. Eddie is believed at large. This does not sound good for anybody, especially the woman.
which it was, i guess i needed to clarify that i can't control what i dream about. there is a relationship, no? same team, same last name, same college, but completely opposite personalities. anyway, any updates as to what went on and where griffin will be for the next few days? i really dont want to see a trifecta of kobe, jrich and eggie on espn when the season starts.
Here's what you are doing. You are speculating about a situation, making it not serious in your own mind, and then trying to lower the seriousness of it by cracking jokes about it. Good night man. THis is in no way comparable to 2 six year olds in a fist fight. IT IS ADULTS WITH GUNS DUDE, SHOOTING THEM OFF IN HOUSES! Have a little perspective and stop minimizing the seriousness of conditions. Look dude. We are all speculating here. 90% of all the posts here are speculating. I'm sorry if I offended you by saying that I didn't think it was appropriate to be making jokes about this situation when we didn't know what was going down. Now, apparently we know it didn't involve Eddie directly. So, let's hypothecate now for a minute. What if there had been a dead body or 2 lying around Eddie's house? Is that something we want to joke around about? I don't think so. Apparently, others think it is appropriate. Whadeva man. I expressed my opinion, they can express theirs. You are speculating that since Eddie wasn't there that nothing serious occurred and that somehow all of us knew beforehand that nobody was hurt. So, it's okay to joke about it. I think that is pretty poor speculation and not appropriate to joke about. When the jokes were made, we didn't know what was going down. Now, you are comparing a fist fight between a couple 6 year olds to guns being fired in a house and nobody knowing what has taken place there. Huh??????? Talk about taking things out of perspective. Good night man. Get real. Let's keep it in perspective, okay? Yes, I'd have to say that fist fights are acts of violence. But, do you really think that 2 six year olds fist fighting is the same as gunshots going off in a house???????????? Well, if during the fist fight one boy gets punched in the head, falls on the floor and the other boy stomps him to death, I'd say it is more serious than just somebody shooting a gun in the air on New Years Eve. But, on the other hand if Jason Williams unloads a shotgun into the chest of a limo driver, then obviously that would be more serious than 2 boys slapping one another in the face a couple times. The point is that at the time of the news report, no one knew what the situation was. It is not until after the event that we can determine how serious it WAS. I simply stated that I wouldn't have wanted to be around someone who was joking around on 9-11 when I was in the middle of that moment and didn't know if I was going to live or die and many other people did die that day. If only 1 person had died that day, it wouldn't have changed my feelings about the seriousness of the situation. I consider guns going off in houses pretty serious. Just as serious as planes flying into big buildings. I wouldn't want to ever be in either one again and I feel sorry for whoever is in there. No, I don't think rockhead is a part of any axis of evil. I just think he was a lunkhead to be spouting jokes at that time. Quit overblowing what I think. Keep it in perspective! And take life a bit more seriously than to joke around about guns going off in houses. Otherwise, you may die of a gunshot would before you are age 40 because you laugh and joke about guns going off in residential neighborhoods. If somebody makes a point of bringing to your attention the inappropriateness of making light of a serious situation while you are at work supposedly working, then just ignore them, like lunkhead......er rockhead did. Just bullets off your back. Let it go dude. You don't have to defend lunkhead. He's already got me on ignore. Let's talk about Eddie. Are they gonna release him or what?
