We didn't pay Lowry all that money to play 18 minutes. You will see Lowry and Brooks on the court at the same time just they did last year.
In the early going, maybe something like this: PG - Brooks (30), Lowry (18) SG - Martin (30), Lee (18) SF - Battier (22), Budinger (22), Martin (4) PF - Scola (28), Hill (10), Jeffries/Hayes (10) C - Yao (22), Miller (18), Scola (4), Hill (4) Martin: 34 mpg Scola: 32 mpg Brooks: 30 mpg Yao: 22 mpg Battier: 22 mpg Budinger: 22 pmg Lowry: 18 mpg Lee: 18 mpg Miller: 18 mpg Hill: 14 mpg Jeffries/Hayes: 10 mpg
So how many minutes will Lee play this season? 10? How is he going to be okay with that? I'm not disagreeing with you, just trying to gauge how much (or little) people expect Lee to actually contribute next year. Brooks and Lowry did really look effective at times last season. I hope they go with that when the opportunity is there. But yes, this will cut into Lee's minutes.
Due to Lee's defense and ability to shoot the ball...i think you're going to see him along with Brooks and Battier in there during crunch time. Especially if you see Martin struggling or getting beat on D. Bottom line is we have a lot of flexibility. I think you even see LEE playing PG too. LEE, Martin, Battier, Scola and Yao.
and you're point being? i said when he's healthy he deserves full minutes. if you want to argue how often he's healthy i would suggest sticking to one point at a time. if you dont think he's deserving of full starters minutes when healthy, then maybe you should stop drinking the cool aid.
You guys do know that Lee played a year of PG in college, right? Mayhaps he makes one of our PG's expendable in a trade at some point? Who knows...... DD
I don't, I would trade the backup that is making $6 million first. However, I would trade AB if it netted us a superstar player like Melo. DD
The only person on the team where minutes matter is Yao. Other than that, play whoever is the hottest.
You're assuming. I don't think Morey's ever said we traded Ariza to make room for Budinger. If you see the trade as a salary dump (like me), you have to assume merely that Morey think Budinger can handle the backup minutes that Shane doesn't play -- or at least that you have other guys that can slide over to cover the spot if Bud can't.
I'm deducing. Quote below is the reference. Why it would it be difficult if they didn't care to give Budinger more minutes? "It was going to be difficult for coach (Rick Adelman) to figure out how to make the minutes work at the 'three' spot," Morey said. "Trevor put his heart and tireless effort into the team last year. He was a huge reason we were able to surprise the league and have a winning season when Yao Ming was out." http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/7148996.html
