Orange Lake Resort sits right behind one of the Disney parks. Lots of recreation, golf, mini golf, pools, a lazy river, beach with jet ski rentals, right on 192. Just came back as my 14 year old played in AAU Nationals at ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. Didn't go to Disney parks but instead Universal Studios and Cocoa Beach when not at games.
Going to Disneyland in a couple of weeks. From a very happy client, I got set up with a free set of park hopper passes for a day, along with an all expenses paid meal at Club 33. Kids (4 & 7) have never been and don't know we're going. Just going to wake them up at 4 am on a Monday and take them to the airport (they've never flown, either). Have 5 days in SoCal...but only doing Disney 2 of them. Probably do some LA sightseeing and spend time on the beach, too. Have a friend that has a boat in Newport so we'll hopefully get to go out on that, too.
Bump....going in June for 3 days with the wife as we have a wedding to attend in FLL... Suggestions based on new fastpass system? Staying at the wilderness lodge
I would definitely get fast passes if you are planning on riding the rides, it will take you all day to ride a roller coaster without it. The Wilderness Lodge is pretty nice, the best advice I can give you is to just eat, eat all day if you can, because that is the best part of Disney World I was really underwhelmed when I went to Disney World I hate all the rides except the roller coasters and there is only like 5 or 6 real roller coasters there anyway. IMO a trip to Fiesta Texas is more fun and less expensive so thats where I go for my entertainment nowadays.
We just went mid-March on spring break. We stayed at the Swan hotel, which I highly recommend. From the Swan you can easily walk to the Hollywood Studios park and Epcot and the Boardwalk. We got park hopper tickets and ate two dinners at Epcot. The entrance that you walk to from the Swam is the back entrance near the restaurants. Easy peasy. There was also boat service from the Swan to the same two parks.
