I am done with them ever. Worst customer service, and I have dealth with some pretty bad customer services. The only way to handle any of your inqury right is by saying "I want to cancel my dish service." because that is the only to talk to somebody in US with a little more customer experience. The oversea out source people are really something.

I have had numerous bad experiences with the tech support in the past, by what really sets me off is this time to upgrade to HD programming and schedule an installation. I ended up calling them 4 times to get it right. First time, I was told there is a glitch in the system, they couldnt schedule the installation, and I have to call back in a hour. One hour later, I called back, they had no recollection what I have ordered and had to go through with their promo again, then the phone dropped in the middle. Third time, again promo, package information, then keep having me wait on line, and finally it was dead silence. Each time it took at least 10-15 min waiting in the queue. Fouth time, I was like screw it, I told the overseas rep that I want to cancel. Then I was transffered to an "account specialist" in Colorado with a real soft and soothing vocie. He applogized and appologized. Ok, I gave them last chance, installation was finally set up. You think nothing could go wrong. Just put up the dish, and get the receiver. Ha. On the day of installation, they sent in a Tony Saprano kind of guy, smells like cheap perfume. After he checked my dish, he was like dude I cant install today because they gave me the wrong dish, you have to reschedule on your own. After all that!! Back to square one.

I finally cancelled the dish. But dish refuses to be out of my life. Calling me in the morning asking me to put it back on. Mail me with an offer with free showtime to reconnect. No, no, no. Then is the billing close out phase out. They refund me everything I didnt use, excpet the NBA league pass they had charged me in full 2 month before NBA starts. Here I am again calling them to get my money back. At first they kept say they have refunded all my money, and they dont owe me anything. After some shouting match from me, finally admit there was mistake and reversed the NBA LP refunds, and told me I should get the money back in 7-10 biz days. 3 weeks past today, nothing happend, I didnt see a penny refunded. I called back. At first, they were again like they have refunded all the money! After 5 min going back and forth, finally said they should have refunded the money, and for some reason it was not processed.!! Then told me it is processed as of today. When I ask if there is some sort of confirmation number, I was told there is none, I just have to take his words for it, and will recive it 7-10 biz days. I said I want to talk to the "fire fight" guys in the US to verify, was told since I am not a dishnetwork customer, so I dont get to talk to them!

Dish pleas go away in my life.

I hate thier customer service as well. Getting to a representative is always super quick though unlike Time Warner. Last year i was having troubel watching rockets games cuz they kept blacking it out or so they said. It took me like 20 calls, not even joking, before they finally figured out the problem and fixed it.

Gonna stick with them though cuz they are the best for indian channels.

    Everyone sucks! let's strike!

btw, we're watching Cyber Sunday WWE on PPV Comcast. 30 minutes into the show, we lose the feed. so we call comcast. we're on hold for 40 MINUTES before we finally get a rep. 2 minutes into the conversation the feed comes back on again. my friend ask them what are they going to do about the 40 minutes we missed. rep says, "well, aren't you getting the feed now?"

No, I swtiched to DriectTV. So far I am really impressed with their customer service, but that's just may be because my expectation is too low after dish and nothing bad has happened since I singed.

One comparison that really set them apart was that the DirectTV installation guy also forgot to bring in the right equipment. BUT unlike dish, which had me reshcedule on another day, directv acutally have runners to send right equipement. This is quality service. I can understand human mistake, but the effort to make it up is what counts in my book.

Now, to be fair, Dish does have better HD receiver. Directv's feels kind cheap. Also dish's programming guide is way better. But in order to get those, you have to suffer their dish's bad customer service, hidden charges, and possibly mental breakdown in my case.

Man, i've had Dish Network for like 6 years and haven't had a real issue with them at all.

The only problem I've had was when they were coming out to install everything (with two more new recievers) when I moved into my current house. They ran late at their previous appointment. I did have to call to find out instead of them calling ahead and letting us know. When they finally got here, it was about to rain with lightening and they couldn't do it, so I had to reschedule. But, when they came out again a couple of days later, they were great. They had two guys, a third came from finishing another job to help and they even looked at what Time Warner hooked up for the internet and said they did a piss poor job on the hookup, explained why which led me to b**** TW out and get it redone plus extras.

thats weird if anything i had the same above problem with directv i had horrible service with them trying to set up an installation as a new customer. i was on hold (thank god for speaker phone features) for 4, 3 and 2 hours on three separate calls only to be hung up on all 3 times. they didnt show up for an install and then told me the next time would be in 3 weeks yet they were going to start billing me that week in according to the original install.

dish hasnt been an issue at all with me or my dad. the worst thing i have to do with dish is call 3-4 times for them to send out a pre-paid box to return a dvr but they finally did...i wasnt using the dvr so it wasnt a huge deal for me i wasn't being charged for it.

Well everytime I had to talk to Dish about technical issues, I ended up with headache. I think I have had dish-litas for awhile, and this set me off the edge. The problem with Dish tech support is that they have this freaking script/routine check over the phone lasting 30 min every time. It's exactly the same, which I always check before calling them, but they just wouldnt trust me that I had done it. I had at least 5 times receiver/sat malfunction and their tech had to come to fix it, and once replace the receivers.

If you are dish customer, I recommand you to buy their protection plan. Also I didnt know they charge 6 buck extra for programming access fee if you dont have a phone connected to the receiver. To me Dish is a real shady business.

I switched to DISH a couple of years ago when I got the AT&T bundle (DISH, DSL & home phone). The only problem I ever had was that the first satellite dish they installed was crappy, and after a rainstorm it filled with water  . They came out and replaced it, and I've been fine ever since. Much better than Time Warner was to me.
