well today's game will be shown on sport alternate channels i think its channel 445 but its not showing in HD just SD for now...

 

When you cancelled Dish - did they offer you anything to keep you as a customer?

Yes, on dish. The guide shows that it will come on tonight on that channel, which is where Rockets games normally come on (the alternate channels 444,445,446, etc.). Who knows if it will actually show up come gametime. I doubt it. If Fox pulled all the content, for instance the actual Fox Sports Southwest channel is gone, then why would the game still show up if it is broadcasted on FSN?

 

Yeah on my dishnetwork guide it also shows that the game is going to come on channel 445, Hopefully it actually comes on once game time is on. Someone call dishnetwork and ask! Im too busy at work to be calling so I will probably call this afternoon at 4.

 

I think if you ordered NBA league pass already your still not getting Pre-season games, I think Nba League pass actually starts when the regular season tips off and not Preseason.

for those seeing listings on Dish, that is basically a placeholder, until they come to an agreement, I wouldnt hold my breath expecting games on that channel.

 

I'm not seeing the Rockets game on channel 445. It was there last night but not this morning.

 

Yeah I was looking at DTV as well but really its not any cheaper.
It seems the same as dish and actually more expensive. My Dish bill was low to start off with and I had all kinds of channels and as the promotions started expiring the channels disappeared and the bill went up.

I chatted with Dish customer service about FSN / Alt channels.
The answers didnt really make sense to me but anyways..here is what the rep said

What you are seeing on the guide is Sun Sports which televises Orlando Magic games. That channel is only supposed to be viewed in Orlando and is supposed to be blacked out everywhere else.

 

I just spoke with one of the dish reps. He said the game would not be airing on an alternate channel and provided me with the following website.

It has a list of channels they are offering for free until the dispute is resolved.

 

My bill with Dish was $120 which includes the Top 200, 3 HD DVR, Cinemax, and HD Platinum. Now I am paying $62 with a comparable package from Comcast. This is a 6 months promotional price which is a deduct of about $20 a month. There is no contract and no cancellation fee which is a win-win.

 

Go to 9514 for HD....the channel seems to be working now, but I don't know about later.

 

The service reps are so poorly trained and inconsistent with they’re responses. Most of them don’t understand the customers’ frustrations cause they’re not even sport fans. They should be more prepared to address this issue.

Again, I was so surprised there was no resistance/persuasion from Dish when I cancelled my service. I’m sure there will be a lot more cancellation when more customers realize they’re losing Fox.

I tried talking to customer care to get some sort of a discount because of this
However they keep giving me this crap about adding these "extra" channels.
Well, how are these channels going to help me..will the Rockets be shown on NHL Network, CBS College Sports or ESPN Classic? No! These extra channels are not a solution. Fox and Dish need to stop acting like children and resolve this. I am not switching to DirecTV either because its more expensive, you get less and their customer service is even worse...and unfortunately I can't get U-Verse or Comcast where I am at

 

Well, in the game notes email from rockets.com, a Dish channel isn't even listed, so I guess that explains it.
