Since I have dishnetwork and can't get Rockets games, I am switching to DirecTV. Who wants to do a referral with me and whats the best way to save money? duyduo@gmail.com

Any other Dish subscribers still holding out? And checking the news wire every day for an update?

This is all I could find:

This doesn't look good. The opener was on TNT and Saturday's game is on channel 20, but if they drop Fox next week my wife is going to FREAK when she can't watch Glee!

I'm holding out, but I'm trying to convince my parents to switch.

The only problem is that DirecTV doesn't have Pakistani Channels, only South Asian ones.

I'm gonna call them today to ask.

Best thing to do is keep the international dish package and switch for American channels.

Well done, I'm going to hype myself up and blow up on the phone demanding double what you got with soft core p*rn as an added bonus.

Dish Network sucked before this and will suck after this.

The only reason I have it is the simple fact it comes with the apartment for free for the basic 200 package, I have a U-Verse install date set up if they don't fix it.

    I have had them all

    U-Verse > Direct TV > Comcast > Dish

Dish has the worst DVR and thank god I have no contract

Basically I do hope it gets fixed because it will save me about 35 bucks a month but if it does not I will never even take their service for free

Can you have both Dish Network and Direct TV?

Have international programming from Dish and American from Direct?

    Is that legal?

Why would it be illegal? It's like having cable for internet and Satelite for tv. Except, 2 separate dishes.

Hell, when I was a kid we had 3 in Saudi. Starz, Orbit, and some other service..

Still holding out for now. I have had Dish for over 13 years and have absolutely loved it, this is the first legitimate time I am close to switching.

They have always been good to my family and I, they respond quick when I call in for customer service, and they have given me countless free movies and credits on my bills in the past. I don't have a problem with my DVR it's always worked fine for me so based on the positive history I have with them I am giving them the benefit of the doubt here.

I hate FOX for what it's doing, I hate for what they stand for and I think it's complete bull**** to make a customer go through hell for one damn station that the Rockets signed a multi million dollar deal with.

I am fed up with the bull**** Fox spews and how they have handled this situation basically telling me via e-mail leave Dish Network and gave me choices to other carriers they are in agreement with.

Fox I don't want your advice on which carrier I should go with, I want you to let me watch the Houston Rockets play basketball, and take you money hungry issues off the court.

Memo to Rockets: don't resign with Fox.

    That is all.

I am still holding out with Dish. I called to complain as well. I have been with them for almost 10 years and did not want to switch, but I wanted something for all this trouble.

They gave me HD free for life. Essentially taking $10 off my bill forever. I guess this is something that they offer standard to new customers, but I was still paying the $10 a months. They tried to get current customers to agree to extend their contract for 2 years or pay a one time $99 fee to be able to get the HD for life but they waived all that for me. Plus they gave me HD platinum channels (which look like they all suck), and Starz superpak for 3 months. And I also got 3 pay per view coupons.

Pretty decent haul, but I still hope they come to an agreement soon. One guy told me that this cant go on forever because it is mutually beneficial for both parties to come to an agreement. Basically, they cant live without each other long term. Another guy told me that they expected an agreement within a couple weeks, but I think he was just making promises that he knew nothing about.

I agree with this 100% and told Dish network the same while on the phone with them. I completely support Dish and their position and I appreciate that they are trying to protect their customers. However, I am still missing Rockets games. So since the value of their service has depreciated in my eyes, and I can switch to another carrier to get the content that I want, I would appreciate a little extra value to replace what I have lost, besides some other lame sports channels that do nothing for me. They threw me a bone.

Also, one guy told me (I dont know how accurate this is) that we would all have NBA league pass, not just the free preview, until the fox conflict is resolved. He also told me that I should be able to see all of the Rockets away games on there, but last night it was blacked out (I had every other NBA game, so frustrating!), so I am not optimistic.

I think it is free for other teams, not for the rockets if you are living in Houston.
