Adding to the pain, it says they could lose channel 20 in November as well....which means only nationally televised games would be viewable on Dish.

I would mention at this point that if you live in Houston, you should be able to pickup FoxHD and my20HD OTA(over the air) with a good digital antennae.

I know the one time I tried it, I could pickup FoxHD all the way out in Baytown, so those of you closer to the antennae array should be able to pick it up.

Check here for more information http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx

Just got another email from Dish Network

    Dear Customer,

We know your channels are important to you, which is why we will continue to provide you with updates on the status of our negotiations with FOX Networks, the owner of some Regional Sports Networks, FX and National Geographic Channel.

At this time, our negotiations with FOX continue. However, FOX has yet to lower their extreme demands and they continue to block your channels.

You may be confronted with advertisements from FOX regarding your local FOX TV station. Please know that DISH Network is working tirelessly to restore the current sports channels and to ensure your local channels are not impacted.

We encourage you to voice your support for DISH Network on our website, www.jointhefightagainstfox.com. You can also call or email FOX Networks directly to let them know how their outrageous demands are affecting you. You may call and ask to speak with the President of FOX Sports at 310-369-1000.

We appreciate your patience during this process. Thank you for being a valued DISH Network customer.

    Sincerely,

    DISH Network

It's just a matter of time until Dish will agree to Fox's demands. They have to know they will lose customers because of this and Fox has all the leverage. What does Fox lose exactly? Not advertising dollars as those same people will just switch to services that include their programming.

Tic Toc, Tic Toc, It's just a matter of time before I switch to Direct Tv. If no deal gets done before Oct 26, Bye Bye Dish Network!

Does anyone know what these "harsh demands" are?

Going to U-Verse, already missed 2 games while they haggle over this. Called Dish to terminate services and they make you pay them 15 dollar to send their crap back

Before the transition I could get those channels OTA with a decent indoor antenna out in Baytown. I can't get anything now up in Conroe with the same antenna. DISH has got til the end of next week or I go with Suddenlink here in Conroe. And I'll take my STB up to the installation hub we have out here. Screw shipping it for $15.

Same here. Making the switch soon. Don't you think though that as soon as we uninstall their stuff, they will come to an agreement? I truly do Lol.

I am guessing that we can watch the first rockets/nets game on the NBA TV in Houston area for the dishnetwork service. By Thursday, I am going to have directTV, but I can switch to directTV on Wednesady if dishnetwork blocks the NBA-TV in Houston area. I am ordering TV service mainly for the rocket game, hoping they have a good year in the coming season.

When I set to record the game tomorrow morning on my Dish Network DVR, it says it is blacked out. Which is weird because I watched the Pacers game on Saturday on NBA TV.

The pacers game was on channel 20 in Houston area, that could be the reason.

well as much as I like the Rockets and Astros, i can understand not caving in to demands by the networks. Lets remember that the networks are losing money too because that is less exposure to their advertisements. So, Fox i loosing money too in the long run.

But if Dish Network is doing this fight and will ultimately still raise their rats I will be mad....

But, when I priced it back when I got Dish Network, it was more affordable than Direct T.V. or cable. Now I have to go back and check to see if that is still the case.

If so, I'm sticking with Dish Network based on principle. I'll catch the Rockets on the Radio, like the old days. Radio can be so much more exciting at time. :)

Same reason I'm holding out. It would be just my luck that they would come to an agreement the day after I pay the Dish cancellation fee.

Stupid question: What do they do with the actual dish on your roof when you cancel?

Well I went back and compared prices and Dish Network and it's regular prices are cheaper than Direct TV. It is anywhere between 10 and 15 dollars cheaper per similar packages. U Verse is the same way, about 10 to 15 dollars more expensive.

Soooo.. I say keep up the fight Dish Network.

Heck 10 or 15 dollars is anywhere between $120 and $180 a year. I don't watch enough T.V. to justify that extra cost.
