I'm watching just to see those three hot chicks. Anyways, people should know what to expect with these movies. Leave your brain at home, and just have fun. Yeah I know, some of you guys are too good for movies like this. Not everything you watch has to be Oscar Worthy or needs rotten tomato support. Now I'm not saying I will pay to see this because movie tickets are overpriced as it is, but I will take time to download it. I love spoof movies. Been watching them since Airplane!. Now I know these aren't up there with Naked Gun and such, but their the only spoof movies out. Their so stupid that I find it entertaining.
I agree that sometimes you have to turn off your brain and enjoy juvenile humor. There are many movies that people say are bad that I don't mind. But these latest spoof films aren't even funny on a juvenile level. They've become incredibly formulaic, uncreative, and boring.
What about the WAYANs Brothers? Besides the "SCARY MOVIE" ones, they keep putting out bowls of turds upon stew of turds upon plates of turds. Lately: that "baby" man movie and the white chicks movie.
Scary Movie 1 & 2 were done by the Wayans along with several other people, including a writing/directing team of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer (F & S were actually only involved with the first one). None of the Scary Movie 1 & 2 people had anything to do with the rest of the series. Scary Movie 3 & 4 (and the upcoming 5) were done by David Zucker (who, along with his brother Jerry and Jim Abrahams, were responsible for "Airplane!"), Pat Proft (a long-time ZAZ contributor) and Craig Mazin. Zucker, Abrahams (who retired at some point in the 1990s to spend more time with his family) and Zucker, along with Pat Proft in many cases, kept doing spoof movies into the 1990s (the "Naked Gun" series, "Top Secret!", the "Hot Shots!" Series, "Wrongfully Accused", "High School High", etc.) Freidberg and Seltzer (from the original "Scary Movie") went on to do "Date Movie", "Epic Movie", "Meet the Spartans" and the upcoming "Disaster Movie". Craig Mazin wrote and directed "Superhero Movie"
I completely agree... Movies are suppose to be fun and to entertain without using your whole brain, well most of the time..
My problem with the Friedberg/Seltzer spoofs is that they go for the easy jokes or the jokes that aren't really jokes at all but are simply references to other things. It's extremely lazy writing and filmmaking. I've enjoyed many of the lesser ZAZ productions ("Top Secret!", "Wrongfully Accused", "Scary Movie 4") enough to sit through and laugh from time to time. I managed to watch all of "Epic Movie" without really laughing once.
This movie is a great satriical spoof on the news and media... The Onion Movie: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/r-u8oyZAgeY&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/r-u8oyZAgeY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
So does that mean movies shouldn't be held to any standard at all? I get the popcorn reasoning; I've used it myself form time to time. But I'm sorry, movies like these are the absolute lowest of the low. The writing is absurdly lazy and the pop references either fall flat, are dated or have been done to death.
