You can't really compare between eras in the NBA because things are so different. For example, the pace in 93 is 5% faster than today. It's also a lot less perimeter-based. Only 700+ 3s in 93 vs. 1800+ today.

Besides, NBA refs in recent years have stopped calling fouls inside with big men. So while perimeter players are getting cheap calls left and right, the refs basically ignore contact among bigs. Whereas in the old days, post players could actually get calls.

The only way to stop flopping is to suspend players. Seems like since they announced they would fine players the amount of flopping has increased.

Best way to get rid of the flop is to call a foul on the players who are flopping.
If they flopped on the defensive end, give them a defensive foul.
If they flopped on the offensive end, give them an offensive foul.

Fine the players 5k and 10k who are multi-millionaires is a complete joke. Is just the way Stern try to act like he cares.

Like a red card equivalent in futbol. But if they do this, maybe some team would win by default

Allow teams to challenge calls like they do in the NFL, for one.

Adopt a hockey-type, immediate suspension of play, for flopping. Get caught with flopping, you miss a quarter of play. Also apply game suspension(s) after a player accumulates an (X) number of flops.

I was going to say the best way is to stop falling for it and not call a foul but I give up hope on these refs.

Fine the players more. Fine the refs for making the call too.
