No way in hell Cuban gives up Dirk to play with the Rockets... The teams hate each other... It won't be in the Southwest conference if he signs with another team...

I doubt he leaves Dallas, and as far as players I dislike the most, Dirk is in the running for the top spot. Still, talent is talent. He would be an incredible asset for the Rox, but if he did leave Dallas, he would be way too expensive.

I think Bosh is at least average defensively but it's useless arguing that here, impossible to prove who is right one way or the other. So, I'll just focus on the rebounding.

Bosh averaged 10.8 rebounds this season in 36.1 minutes
Dirk averaged 7.7 rebounds this season in 37.5 minutes

    That is a huge difference.
And, I hope you are not trying to make a case that Bosh's teams have been in any way comparable to Dirk's.

as far as Bosh vs. Dirk, for the type of money that will be tied up with either, i'd rather invest in the younger guy who has yet to pass his prime. Bosh has been improving steadily every season and will yield better long term returns.

dude just sa on fastbreak that because of the Over-36 rule Dirk does not really have a major motivation to sign with Dallas. Unlike Bron, Wade etc, Dallas cannot offer him much more than any other team.

    I bet he is gone!

Nope! Don't care for Dirk...and really don't care for Bosh! I truly wish the Rockets don't get neither!

The only reason we should make a run at Dirk is if we lose Yao. Both are scoring bigs that aren't know for perfect defensive play. Having both would mean that our leading rebounder in the starters would be Ariza on more nights then we need to wing games.

That being said, I'd take Dirk over Bosh anyday and most teams probably would as well, if he was available in FA.

I am one of those that hope we don't get Dirk....

I put Dirk and T-Mac in the same class when it comes to being soft...

Dirk is like a pair of socks you lose in the dryer and you can never find them when you need them.. That's how Dirk is come playoff time.

Dirk is a one trick pony... Only thing he does is shoot from the outside and he will not drive... Basically if his shot is not falling he's useless... Because he is not going to play "D".. For the old schoolers who remember Lewis Lloyd, Dirk makes him look like Dennis Rodman...

I have been one of Yao's biggest critic, but I will not disgrade him by putting him in the same category as Dirk...

Yao may not be the most gifted or the most athletic, but he gives you a 110% each every night he's on the floor....

    Yao and Dirk.

Dirk spaces the floor, giving Yao more room to operate.

Not to mention, teams will have to make a tough decision to send their taller/better defender on either Yao or Dirk. Both players will destroy anybody who is not at least 6-10, and even then they will still have trouble guarding them.

we obviously make a run at Dirk. but he doesn't seem the type to turn his back on Cuban. I still wanna see Dirk in phx if not in houston.

I would obviously love to get him, but since the only way we could get him would be in a sign-and-trade, I think that chances are zero, because Cuban would never move him to us.

Bosh's only competition in rebounds comes from Bargnani. Dirk's comp. in rebounding are Haywood, Marion and Damp. 3 rebs per game is huge however given the context of who their teammates are I suspect the difference to be miniscule.

As far as teams go yes the Mavs have indeed been better, however as I said:

    1) The Mavs have done more with their team
    2) The Mavs play in a significantly more difficult conference

Take away Dirk and Bosh from the Mavs and Raps and pre-Butler trade you have a roster of old kidd, Damp and Jet vs. Turkeyglue, Bargs and Calderon. Not that big a diff IMHO
