I'm not even a big fan of Bosh, but I simply can't believe this at all...

As far as team needs go, we need an athlete, and a good defender to go with Yao at the four...

    Aaron Brooks
    Kevin Martin
    Trevor Ariza
    Dirk Nowitzki
    Yao Ming

WOULD be the WORST defensive line-up of ALL TIME.

Dirk got destroyed by a fossilized Antonio McDyess defensively in the playoffs.

    He's also a Grade A chokejob.

    And now he's old.

I see some people here that want Dirk but don't want Bosh.

What if Dirk didn't put us on his wish list either?

He is one of the most clutch guys in the league. The only guy I would take over Dirk with 3 seconds left is Kobe.

Yao needs space, he needs someone that can hit the long ball and take away the pressure...

Dirk fits Yao like a glove......and you could get a defensive minded PF like Hill to come in and play when either Dirk or Yao is out.

    He would fit perfectly.

Yeah, Bosh's playoff numbers are AWESOME.

    NOT !

He is willing to take less money to enable Dallas to sign FA's,make trades.

Next three to four years? I think that's optimistic. I don't hate Dirk, and I think he'd obviously help, but the age gap between him and Bosh is a huge factor. I'll say this much, though. It would chap Cuban's ass if he signed with the Rockets.

there is three reasons listed in that article for Dirk to opt-out and then turn around and re-sign with Dallas.

    1) No trade clause eligibility
    2) lock in contract at current cba terms
    3) If he is indeed serious about taking a slight paycut to help Cuban afford better help, now is the time to do it.

I fully believe he isnt going anywhere so IM gonna move this where it belongs.

When has Dirk ever blasted his teammates? The dude's always been professional, as far as I know. And how exactly can the Rockets do better?? Dirk is definitely in the top 5 PFs in the league, if not top 3.....there really aren't too many other options. I can understand not wanting him, but at least be realistic and fair in your assessment of him.

I don't like the Mavericks, but Dirk has been an incredible player for them.

If Cuban didn't let Nash walk for like 5 million total, they would have already had a championship or several.

    Offensively sure, he fits well,

but defense and toughness, in the paint, wins championships.

To put it plainly, we would be SOFT at every position...

I have watched Dirk for the last 5 years and trust me he's not all that.

You guys think you hated T-Mac.... I promise you, you will want to run Dirk out of town.... When pressure hits Dirk runs... But hey he has an MVP so that makes him the best in the league...

MVP is like the all-star game a popularity contest at best...

    This

I despise all things about Dallas, but Im fair enough to admit that they had their chance to win a ring and would have had Cuban not screwed up and allowed Nash to walk.

    You're kidding me right!!!

I live in Dallas and trust me has blasted his teammates... It was one of the best subjects on the Ticket down here. He's blasted Terry and Dampier.

That main F - Up would belong to Don Nelson... He convinced Cuban not to sign Nash.

Lebron's mom is also opting out, do we make a run at her, too?

Cause Bosh brings a whole lotta toughness, right? It's almost impossible to get Dirk, but he's surely a better overall player than Bosh. Defensively it's a wash.

A hell of a lot more than "Fold like a wet blanket" Nowitzki.

All you had to do was watch Bosh in the Olympics to see that he could D and make an impact as a physical specimen with his quickness and length. Bosh is Nails compared to Dirk. Yao needs IQ and quickness defensively to hide his issues, like Chuck Hayes did at one time...

I like Dirk as much as the next guy, but there is no way that having
Dirk's slow ass covering for Yao's unbelievably slow rotations is going to win us a ring...

Not to mention our backcourt plays matador defense...

We would not have a chance...
