Dirk couldn't walk off the court and had to be carted away after he was helped off the court by teammates. At best its a bad ankle sprain. He could be done for the season which would spell doom for Dallas and without their first round pick this year it would make it a total loss. They only lead denver by 3 games.
Oops! Dirk looks like he will be out at least 3-4 weeks. The Mavs' schedule is quite tough - 7 of their last 12 are against WC playoff teams. It's possible the Mavs will drop out of playoffs.
Bad news for Dallas. I guess Stack and Terry will have to take over his scoring duties. The only player I would wish injury on is Bruce Bowen.
Don't count on it. Dirk's body amazed me before. I saw he had a very bad sprain of ankle once that to me would for sure put him out for a long time, but he bounced right back the next game.
It's the curse of Juwan. If the Mavs miss playoffs, will Avery Johnson get fire? Avery Johnson nneds to let the Mavs run more. J Kidd is at his best at transition offense. AJ needs to stop being a control freak and calling offense sets from the sideline.
First of all, Dallas is playing really bad basketball right now. And Dirk with ankle and knee injury. It may be serious. If yest than Dallas is done.
I hate to see the Mavs getting a taste of what the Rockets have been going through for 3 years but that's life. If they miss the playoffs or get bounced early they now have an excuse. Or I should say Avery has an excuse. He needs to go. He is a disciplinarian. Fine. The problem is he doesn't come off as being a particularly intelligent coach. He wasn't particularly bright as a player (he benefited a LOT from the talent on those Spurs team and the fact that the SA coaching staff called many of the plays for him) and now he has a HOF PG who is shackled by his lack of imagination and inability to relinquish some control during games.
I detest the Mavs more than any other team apart from the Jazz, but I'm not happy to see Dirk get hurt. Kidd is undoubtedly having problems with Avery,it's bad for basketball but good for the Rockets.
