I don't know the exact figure, but Dirk just scored near 30 points in the 4th quarter for a crazy comeback victory over the Jazz. How embarrassing. Jazz were leading by 15 in the 4th
OH MAN, I was thinking to myself when Dallas was down by like 15. The Mavs are a good 4th quarter comeback team and Utah j*zz are road game chokers. I sensed this would happen.
Mavs outscored the Jazz 44-18 in the 4th. Going back to last season, Utah sure doesn't look like a playoff team.
The Mavs specialize in wild 4th quarter comebacks at home. I didn't watch it, but when a team is up by 15 the start the quarter and end up losing by 11, we are talking major meltdown. 44-18. The longer the Jazz hold on to Boozer, the more they will suffer for it. At some point they will have to make a move and settle for less than they want in a trade. He is death to their chemistry.
When Dirk was younger, he used to shoot 3-pointers late in games and clang them off the rim. Then he learned to attack the basket and draw fouls in crunch time. His "unclutchness" ended years ago but some people still won't give him credit. Dirk's flopping makes him a popular target for non-Mavs fans.
He isn't unclutch, but if you get physical with him or attack him while he is playing defense,he gets in trouble. This has given him the reputation of being soft. He was humiliated by Baron and S. Jackson in the 1st round playoffs(ending up with 19.7),after getting the regular season MVP award, which reinforced this unclutch reputation. He has gotten a great deal better since then, despite his weaknesses.
He struggled against the Warriors in his MVP season, which people continue to kill him for. Outside of that, he's generally been terrific in the playoffs. I remember, in particular, him making huge clutch plays against Memphis one year.
Utah has lost their mental toughness and passion. They look like a team not interested anymore. Maybe it's for Sloan to go
Dirk's style of play opens him up to criticism I don't think he really deserves. The guy is an assassin from the perimeter, and he can kill you at the end of games if you don't have someone who can body him up with height. It's unfair that he's labeled as being unclutch after maybe 2 postseasons of subpar performances. That being said, I hate the Mavericks (especially Jason Terry).
the mavs were down 14 when i went for a dump. up 8 when i was back. feels like the jazz have some issues internally, not just missing players. maybe it is finally time for sloan to retire?
