He has signed up to do rush hour 3. It's pay-or-play deal for $25 mil. If the studio doesn't make the movie, he still gets paid. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,195070,00.html
that picture is Huuuuuuuuuge. anyhoo, Chris Tucker has been in Africa and places like that doing humanitarian crap.
Chris Tucker is an enigma. He is supposed to be one of the leading men in Hollywood if he wanted to but it is weird how he turns down roles or have not pursued them vigorously (according to reports). I am not sure money is that much of an issue with him because he could have garnered 10s of millions if he remain active and open to projects like Will Smith or Martin Lawrence. He is one of my favorite actors and I sometimes get angry at him for not giving folks like me more of him to consume - but I applaud for him part in helping the less fortunate especially his dedication to humanitarian work Africa and other less fortunate parts of the world. And oh, I would love to see Yao in it.
20 mil? thats ridiculous. Jacke Chan is the real star and he is getting less than chris tucker? Yao Ming would be awesome in it, he could just play himself in the film . i dont think they can afford him
In the last Rush Hour, Tucker got all his money upfront, but Jackie Chan went for getting some of the backend profits, so Jackie ended up making more in the end. I bet it's a similar deal this time. Tucker gets his money guaranteed, while Jackie has the potential to make more, and the risk to make less. I guess that's how they like it.
Yeah, I read somewhere that Chan stated that he got big part of the box office gross money too, I think he gets more than 5%, for a 600M movie worldwide, that's more than 30M plus upfront, that's hella deal.......
I think Bruce Lee could make anyone look good, though. It would take some serious camera tricks and choreography to make Yao look like any sort of trained martial artist fighting Chris Tucker.
Also, Jabber was a student of Bruce Lee so he did have some martial art background when he played that role in the movie. I don't think he needed as much help as Yao would.
For me, as much as i love Chris Tucker. He seems to play the same character in all of his movies. He might as well stick with the one character and let people enjoy it instead of playing loud-mouthed, whiny (drug dealer, cop, con artist,....). But i am also glad that he's quite choosy about his roles, an extra film here or there wouldn't hurt though.
Let me guess? Kareem must be high on this clip, lee kick him in the face. Oh by the way i saw the making of that movie and Kareem really got kick in the face.
depends on the role. no way yao's going to take his real acting debute in hollywood as a 'bad' guy and beaten by someone who barely knows martial art. it's bad for his fans, especially those in china.
