Pimp, The reason I love digital cable as opposed to DirectTv is for two reasons. For one, it's much faster to scroll through the channels. The second is that the onscreen guide is much faster and more helpful than the DirectTv guide. I love being able to see what's on another station at anytime during the day without leaving the channel I'm currently watching. It may cost a little bit more, but to me it's worth it. ------------------ www.swirve.com "Pre-born, you're fine, pre-school, you're f*****."-George Carlin

I think it was called Digital Rewards but I can't honestly remember. ------------------ So, I took the million dollars and bought a steam shovel...
No. In fact, I'm going to sell my dish converters. ------------------ So, I took the million dollars and bought a steam shovel...
http://www.houston.rr.com/arrk/raf2.html Guys check out the link above. If you call up the Houston RoadRunner number and mention "Spreading The News" program, you get FREE installation and FREE first month. Once you become a customer, you can fill in a form for the person who referred you and that person gets a reward (possibly a free month too). Someone should read the details to make sure there are no catches. [This message has been edited by Smokey (edited May 08, 2001).]
Ok, I WANT THAT REWARD!!!! ------------------ So, I took the million dollars and bought a steam shovel...
The woman working the sales line had heard nothing about the free install and free first month. I was able to get a free install but no free first month ------------------
That's not true. I paid $99, and it included 2 recievers (boxes), 1 dish (the cheapest one), and free installation. I pay $60 a month ($30 if I only had one box). I have the sports package (Fox Sports/All ESPN's), and the HBO/Cinemax package. Plus I didn't have to sign a contract. The guy that installed it also told me that in order to get local channels it would easier for me to just buy a set of "rabbit ear" anntenna(sp?), and just turn my box off when ever I wanted to watch local tv. So that way I don't have to pay another 20-30 dollars for local channels. It's worked out pretty good for me. ------------------ http://www.rapmusic.com/texasg/NewMavsLogo1.jpg
Ive been calling around too. Generally it wasnt too expensive. I had the women price out digital cable with all the movies and roadrunner (for only 1 tv and 1 computer) and it was going to be something like 80 a month. Not Jeff's 60, but not too bad. Ofcourse, when you factor in all the equipment and multiple tvs and at an extra computer, the price goes up a bit. Also, I think weve decide to go the DirectTV/DSL route. Anybody got any opinions on who offers the best DSL in Houston--I am price sensitive but am willing to pay more for better service. ------------------ I hope, when they die, cartoon characters have to answer for their sins.
