Let's face it. With the new rules in the NBA, the game has evolved. The better recipe for success is building a team composed of quick, athletic, versatile ball handlers. This leads to faster more free-flowing offense; but note that this doesn't mean that you can't still play defense.

I'm sorry to say that as much as I am a JVG fan, I think the days of slow-it-down, pound it inside with a dinosaur is dying. The Rockets are never going to trade Yao. The tough question is, how do you build a championship calibre team around a dinosaur? First step is for JVG to evolve his reptilian philosophy and move towards amphibian!

    Amphibians evolved before the reptiles.

What we need are some warm-blooded mammals.

    Warriors vs. Utah
    San Antonio vs. Phoenix

These two series will determine which is better: half-court or uptempo.

Can you explain why the old and slow San Antonio Spurs still pwned the high scoring Denver Nuggets in 5 games?

well, technically... if the dinosaurs coulda adapted to the extreme high heat of the explosion, the world of little to no food, learned how to swim, they would've survived :p

but yea.. he used a bad example.

    what he means is...

It's the not strongest that survives, it's those who can adapt to a changing environment...

The reason why San Antonio wins is because they play tough half court defense, but they can run and score with anybody too.

Yao is pretty much worthless in the NBA today with teams with several good players athletic players, like the Warriors or Suns or Bulls. I would let tmac run the show, trade yao for some athletic scorers and a guy who can finish inside.
