The girl that steals a married man has no business complaining when that same man leaves her for another.

Carmelo is a low character guy, I doubt the Nuggets get a lot of high quality offers from good GMs.....some might reach for him, but I don't believe Morey will.

I would jump all over this trade, but I reeeaallly hate giving up Kevin Martin. I would take JR for 1 year to get Melo. We would keep all our draft picks(though I'd give up 1 to complete the deal), Hill & Bud.

    GetRDone!!!

Martin over Brooks, but Denver would be crazy not to try to get both.

I don't think Morey will bite on this one because I'm pretty sure Denver's asking price is more than we'd be willing to pay.

Maybe if Morey can do a 3-4 team trade, we can get away with only giving away Brooks, JJ, Picks, and TE? I'm not as well versed with the technicalities and salaries like B-Thug.

i agree on this for the short term.....theres no reason why Denver would give up Melo for anything but a "no brainer" in their eyes before the season....not when they have until Feb to deal him.

I dunno Anthony could make it pretty tough for them if they don't trade him when he wants them to.

No way that deal gets done without involving at least one or both of the Knicks' picks.

But I don't mind this deal, as I would love to hold on to at least one of those picks. I think making J.R. understand how to play in R.A.'s offense may be a challenge.

WAAAAHHHHHHHHHH Wow why dont you cry about it some more. Its just electronic text in a basketball forum. If you're seriously getting worked up and frustrated over a couple words in a title you have bigger problems buddy. And get off your high horse, bc YOU should be the one to not do something like this again.

I'd do a Martin + Battier + Jeffries + 2011 Knicks swap + Hill for Melo and JR Smith. Then, in a separate deal, we an use to TE for Birdman. Rockets lineup would be:

    Brooks/Lowry
    Lee/Smith/Taylor
    Melo/Budinger
    Scola/Anderson/Patterson
    Yao/Miller/Hayes

    Now, that is STAAAAAACKED SON!

I think we have enough assets where we shouldnt have to give up either Martin or Brooks in a Melo trade.

How long do they have to wait before they can turn around and trade jr smith if this does go through?

The biggest reason Martin fits imo is salary. If he is the main piece of the deal going back to Denver it is a lot easier to make the salaries work. Without Martin or Brooks you are talking about a deal of Bud, Hill, Battier and Jeffries (plus picks)

I'm not sure how keen the team would be to give up all three potential backup SFs in a Melo trade as well as gutting the team of defensive specialists.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Melo for Martin? Somewhere, Morey is laughing at this article. Like Denver actually has any leverage? Melo's got the upper hand here, along with the GM of his preferred destinations.

These articles are pure speculation just like the posts here. Why wouldn't Denver want a borderline all-star with a decent contract. Martin is an asset and Denver would want him for the same reason we wanted him last year. Teams who give there best players away for nothing end up sucking for a long time unless they luck out in the lottery.

Salary shouldn't be the motivator here. Its all about fit and final product.

With Melo's salary and the 125% + 100k rule, the Rockets need to send out ~14m.

You can get there with some combination of Jeffries or Battier, Budinger, Hill, PP, Hayes and the non guaranteed filler. There would be a ton of moving pieces but some of those guys, such as Hayes or Battier, could be bought out and return.
