I question anyone's actual knowledge of defense if they think Sengun is as capable defending the perimeter our as switchable on defense as Jabari is. He simply is not good at that.

It was a close game and Ime took him out when he could because he wanted to get a stop.

It's an off/def switch that coaches do when every possession matters in a close game.

Is Jabari the worst defensive player of the team right now including the bench? Also yes.

 

He also had 5 steals. It'd be dumb to go after him after such performance

 

You can believe what you want, doesn't change the fact that Ime isn't treating Alp as if he's a good defender. If he were, we'd be switching everything on defense. We don't. Because for most of the defense Alp is being hidden around the paint because he can't be trusted to check shiftier dudes.
