I would agree that the timetable for “knowing” if a draft pick or signing was a hit is different based on a variety of factors, but I’d argue that in fact Brooks has not been a very good player for a very long time. I’m not here to make the argument he hasn’t looked better here so far than he did for the majority of his time in Memphis. Taking less shots was the number 1 thing I was hoping to see from him and so far so good. His advanced/impact numbers are near his career best(but still mostly negative)His shooting percentages are making Curry’s career shooting numbers look bad. Even if Brooks shoots better this season than he ever has in his career it’s not going to be anywhere near as good as it’s been through these first 4. I understand the optimism from those who view Brooks as “very good player for a very long time”. Those with the opposite view of his time in the league so far are going to be skeptical. 4 games shouldn’t be enough for anyone to say whether the Brooks signing was a win or a loss.
Learn homer bias and kneejerk. Again don't expect folks to be mind readers Memphis is dead last in offensive rating. I wonder what that has to do with. Must be the offensive juggernaut Brooks
Why you gotta do this? Yes Memphis is worse without Brooks period... You are trying to make this not about Brooks and the impact he has on winning. Brooks will do things for winning that don't ever come up in stat sheet.... He is shooting better than expected, it won't be sustainable but what is sustainable is his brand of basketball.. He will play defense, he will hustle and under Udoka he will play the right way... He will hit big shots when The Rockets need it and even carry the offense a little from time to time... You let LeBron influence your opinion on a player and now all of you are finding out.... Sadly, instead of giving him props you will look for any negative you can grasp at to prove LeBron was right in brain washing you...
what in the world is all this blabber. you actually typed this and believe this makes any sort of sense. gtfoh with this bs
Exactly. All I said was Memphis is worse without Brooks, and they clearly are. I personally think Memphis undervalued Brooks and will regret letting him walk. Brooks and JJJ were an awesome defensive complement to Ja and Bane.
Everything he said makes perfect sense. I seriously am starting to think you may have issues reading.
of course you do. what's surprising about someone being a Brooks nut rider agreeing with a Brooks post. apparently a revelation to you yeah Lebron is all up in minds rambling. Makes perfect sense to you. Just stupid
Listen, we all know what's happening here. You say a lot of dumb things on this forum, and when you get called out, you start acting like a child. Perhaps it's time for a nap. Let the grown ups talk.
And The Rockets are better with Brooks, without Brooks The Rockets are 0-4.... He will undoubtedly be the biggest impact to winning games this year, wile his shooting % will regress I don't think its going to dip low enough for @YOLO to get any type of enjoyment out of. Its not even about Brooks taking more shots, its about him taking the right shots and here in Houston so far he is. He will be a decent shooter in Houston.
not really. you're just doing more of the same that i laugh at all the time. I could give two shitts what you think gets called out. I already called you out for your claim of Brooks being the issue for Memphis. that's all i needed This victory lap some of you are trying to have is hilarious after 4 games
I agree. He doesn't even need to keep up this current hot streak. So long as he remains a good enough shooter to attract attention, he will be a big positive on the floor. I have a couple of theories of why Brooks may be shooting better here. Perhaps he was forcing things in Memphis to land his first big contract. He may have also gotten frustrated with Memphis's iso-centric offense. Either way, a change of scenery often can have a major impact on a player's performance.
Last time you were this certain, you were lecturing people about how there was no chance Banchero would go #1.
woopty dooo. How's that looking. Definitely struggling it looks like. And he isn't some generational player. So sad actually the last time I was so certain is knowing the rockets would be the worst team for years, unders on their wins, bol bol not being 6th moy, keon johnson being waived by phx, jaylen brown getting super max, dipo next contract not being higher than $28 mil. Players like garuba, nix sucking. Boy these are just off the top of my head. I damn sure hit significantly more than I miss
I agree, not to mention the negative vibes in Memphis.... It got pretty toxic towards the end for him. Houston is a new opportunity and he seems to be reacting really well to it. Because I'm a Rockets fan before anything I am rooting for him all the way to transform his career here. I hope he has even more to show us than these first few games.
Everything you were right about was highly predictable and likely, bet you also predicted Wemby would be good.....
not really. is that why these were tipjar bets with others bc it was so predictable the unders for years was predictable? LOL not according to the board who "slammed" overs every year classic square better alert after the fact acting like things were predictable
Game 61: "look he's done OK up to this point, but his career arc and super EXTRA advanced stats just doesnt support a core piece to the Rockets didnt you see Steph cook him that one time? His defense isnt even all that --- according to C.L.I.T. he's the worst defender on the team!! You guys need to stop rooting for this guy even though he brings all out effort each night and isnt a punk b**** like most every other player on the team and start rooting for the efficiency monsters that are winning all these games for us. Stats dont lie!!"
When we talk about a "very good" player, we usually talk about his overall value, not just very good at defense, unless he is really elite. We can agree that he is a very good defensive player. But I wouldn't say he is elite. He was voted to the All NBA Defense 2nd team only once in his 6-year career. It's his offense that pulls down his stock. I don't want to repeat what has already been posted.
